My wife and I have just returned from a weekend break at the Dunalastair Hotel and I would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of heading to the Perthshire area. Excellent value for money (I paid £90 DB&B for a double room....through ---) and the food and service were top class. I live in Scotland and have visited a few 'not so great' hotels in and around this area (who charge a lot more than here) but the Dunalastair was a pleasant surprise and exceeded my expectations. It was reassuring to see that the owners obviously take pride in the place and have spent money on some upgrading, as well as their marketing (check out their website, it is excellent...). Location is ideal for those wanting to chill out or those (like myself) who like a bit of outdoor activities. Some great mountain biking in this area. Overall an excellent 'wee' hotel and I will definitely return.

We spent a couple of nights at this hotel on a "Spring Break", excellent value for money. The hotel appeared traditional and on first impression I thought a little "stuffy" but my fears were rapidly dispelled by the welcome from the manager. that coupled with the general attitude of the staff made you feel valued - a really great crew! The accomodaton was fine and many rooms were being upgraded - nice to see a positive level of investment. The food was very good, and plenty of it . Breakfasts were typically Scottish - I'm still trying to lose weight!!!

Would we go back - most definitely.

I have just stayed for 2 nights, and I just wish that it had been a week. It is isolated, beautiful, and the most wonderful chance to step away from the rat race. I did the train journey from Rannoch Station to Fort William and back. The scenery was superb

The Dunalastair Hotel in Kinloch Rannoch is the best Hotel I have ever
stayed in and I have gone back repeatedly to celebrate every major
occasion. Valentines was the first time we visited and the atomasphere
was just like a big House party. I then celebrated my husbands Birthday
here. When we got married here all our guests were transported to the
most magical location and experience that they are still talking about
it two years later. Christmas at Dunalastair is so special that you
have to book it early. I am now planning my next trip to Dunalastair
for my Birthday and the Hotel is completely booked for three days
exclusively for all my guests, the food activities and entertainment are
being handled magnificently by the Manager Peter Sim. All the staff are
stars, John Drummond always going the extra mile. James in his splendid
Highland attire, I will never forget the first glimpse of him greeting
us in the beautiful entrance hall with the fire roaring, it was so
typically Scottish. The food, is first class, the Village unique, the
Moors stunning, the locals, the scenery breathtaking. The rooms are
individual and very comfortable. You will meet people at this hotel from
all over the world and it will feel like a home from home certainly not
acheivable in any of the luxury chain hotels I have stayed in to date.
