My husband and I were on a walking holiday and had the last night booked at the Dunalastair. What a disappointment! On arrival there was no facility for a late lunch or snack of any kind. The only option for dinner was a very pricey 3 course set menu. After dinner we went to the lounge for a coffee and a wee dram only to be met by the most obnoxious unhelpful staff. It would appear this hotel does not want overseas travellers and think themselves beyond the need to treat clients as guests. If you don’t want snooty, stay well away.

Located on the Square of a small Scottish Village of Kinloch Rannoch, set close by a Loch, this is a very good destination Hotel if you seek the real Scottish experience. Very good Dining Room, comfortable rooms, and very helpful staff. However it is not on a road that leads anywhere other than beside the Loch, but is close to access to major highways so is worth the short trip.

murder mystery weekend..... went in a company of 6. had
a wonderful time. rooms were full of character , very comfortable
and clean. we found the staff friendly and the food very good.
wonderful log fires throughout the hotel, lovely and relaxing.
would certainly return and recommend this lovely hotel.

Great location for a retreat however the hotel rooms need urgent refurbishment as the quality and standard is somthing out of the 70'S. On the plus side the staff are very friendly and the evening meal in the restaurant was superb. Breakfast was a let down!
