Dear Rosaleen,

Many thanks for your review, and glad to read that you so enjoyed your stay. We are very lucky to have such loyal fellow workers, and yes, the vast majority of them have been with us for years. Our two children ( Megan and Liam ) certainly like the whole arrangement - as they get more birthday presents as a result!

Best regards,

Alistair

“Excellent hotel - top class customer service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 December 2010

My mother stayed at the Greenpark hotel as one of an organised group of bridge players. The group stayed at the hotel for 5 days at the end of November 2010. Despite very challenging weather conditions the hotel did everything possible to support their guests. My mother (as seasoned traveller) had nothing but good things to say about this hotel, from the comfort of the rooms to the fine quality of the food (including the home baking which was available to guests at all times). However, her best compliment is reserved for the quality of customer service. This is illustated by the fact that she did not notice that she was missing her (very expensive) digital hearing aid until she arrived home (she thought she had placed it in her purse when the battery gave up). The hearing aid is tiny and she thought that she had no chance of it being found. I called the hotel who searched the room (including moving furniture) They found the hearing aid and posted it back to my mother. As there was very heavy snow in the area a trip to the post office to ensure it could be sent by registered mail was certainly "going the extra mile". Despite us offering to pay the cost of the postage the hotel said they would cover it. Many thanks to the terrific staff and management at the Greenpark hotel.

Dear cazo13,

Many thanks for getting back to us after your mothers Bridge Break stay with us. Returning her hearing aid was the least we could do. Her and her fellow bridge players braved weather conditions to get here, that Sherpa Tensing would have though twice of going out in!

Best regards,

Alistair

“Very friendly, very comfortable and very popular.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 October 2010

My wife and I stayed here for five nights in September 2010. Two friends from Glasgow who had recommended the hotel joined us for two nights. Its a bit like being at home. All the staff treat you like a member of the family and go out of the way to make you at ease. Most of the guests are repeat vistors and it is easy to see why they keep going back. All the rooms are slightly different but all have a view of the Loch next to the hotel. The tariff is simple. Dinner, Bed & Breakfast is the only choice.

Breakfast is awesome with several tables displaying cereals, pastries and rolls, fresh and dried fruit along with a healthy selection. A menu of cooked items is also available and you are free to mix and match as you wish. You can of course have your porridge served with a measure of whiskey. Tea and coffee is availble in the lounge all day and about 3pm cakes and biscuits also appear. Pre dinner sherry is available at no additional cost every evening as well. Dinner is a four course selection and changes every night. Meals are well balanced and exceedingly good. Some items such as steak carry a supplement. The wine choice is also good and the prices are very reasonable.

The only negative thing I can think of is that we were probably the youngest guests there and we are in our mid sixties. Not that this is a problem just dont expect late social gatherings in the evenings around the bar and lounge. Most nights these are deserted by 10pm. In fact one night when we were chatting in the lounge the staff asked us to turn the lights off when we went to bed.

We will go back but must remember to book about 6 months ahead.

Dear Gallavan,

Many thanks for taking the time to submit a review, and delighted to read that you and your friends enjoyed your time with us. Your kind comments are much appreciated, and we were particularly happy that you enjoyed the breakfast selection - though do please keep the ideas coming. On the subject of breakfast, while you are absolutely right that the vast majority of our guests dine with us, guests are also welcome to stay on a bed and breakfast basis if that is the kind of arrangement they are looking for.

Thanks also for putting the lights out! Normally we hold the fort to around 11.15pm'ish, and after that we operate an honesty bar with our guests just writing down what they've had to drink and their room number.

We hope to welcome you all to the Green Park at some point in the future, and thank you once again for the revue.

Best regards,

Alistair

“Hotel frequented by the eldery and infirm, but excellent throughout.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 October 2010

This was a first class hotel, with excellent rooms, fine food, exceptional and friendly service. Owners take great personal care of everything. Views stunning. Location perfect for town. Clientele were very much on the elderly side and many had walking aids and some clearly had dementia. But that was not too off putting since everything else more than made up for the age and sensibilities of the fellow guests. But if you want to feel young and you are middle aged then go there! Would go back., even if my wife was the youngest guest, and she is no spring chicken!! Probably the very best hotel in Pitlochry.
Felt really relaxed and taken care of in the Green Park, more than any other hotel I have visted.

Dear donaldwy,

Many thanks for your review and delighted that you so enjoyed your stay with us. Your kind comments are much appreciated.

Your comments about the profile of the hotel are absolutely correct - Club 18-21 we certainly aren't! Over the years that we have operated the Green Park, we have been very lucky to build up a loyal following of regular guests, and in many ways our expenditure on the hotel has reflected the likes of this market. To give you an example, when we took over the hotel in December 1996 there were no guest lifts, and I am delighted to say that there are now two separate nine person passenger lifts in the hotel.

For anyone who has walking difficulties but still wants to be able to get into Pitlochry easily, we have purchased two scooters in the 'racing green' colours normally associated with the Grand Prix circuit. Anyone attempting to get to Perth on them should have no difficulty getting there, but may have to catch the train or bus home!

Thanks once again for the revue.

Best regards,

Alistair
