“Best breakfasts ever”

Beinn Bhracaigh

6 Jul 2008

Although this says it is B&B, it is really more of a small hotel which does not provide an evening meal.
Our room was beautiful, with a huge ensuite bathroom. Everything one could wish for was provided, even a Kitkat.
When we came back from the theatre on the first evening, the room had been tidied, and the jumble of clothes that we had left lying about had been hung up (much to our embarrassment).
But the most wonderful thing about Beinn Bhracaigh is the breakfast.
There was an enormous fruit salal bowl with strawberries, kiwi, pineapple and raspberries; greek yoghurt; creamy scrambled eggs with thick hot smoked salmon; an amazing rosti; or the best traditional cooked breakfast we have ever had.
This B&B should be the benchmark by which all others are judged.

“perfect in every way”

I've just clicked on this website to tell you about this gem of a property, - having visited here twice in the space of two weeks on a tour of Scotland with friends, we all voted this the n° 1 bed and breakfast in Scotland - not just for this specific area!.

We opted for the superior rooms and were delighted with them. In every way we felt 'special', from the warm greeting to the attention to detail, to the pure luxury of the whole experience.

As a retired professional housekeeper in 5 star hotels i was astonished by the quality of services and accomodation provided by Alf and Anne.

And then we come to the breakfasts......... sublime - you only have to skim through all the other reports to read the same.

If you've tried the rest, now try the best!

“The very best place to stay”

I have stayed several times at Ann and Alf's wonderful B&B and it is consistently the best place I've stayed in the UK, across the board. A very rare blend of warm, relaxed and friendly yet discreet hospitality, good knowledge of the area and useful pointers for places to go and things to see, the most wonderfully presented rooms, plus superb and delicious breakfasts. They really are stars and extremely competent at what they do, they get it just right. To the extent that when it's time to leave, I'm really gutted and already thinking about when I can wangle another visit. So, if you are thinking to head that way, look no further. The decor is beautifully tasteful and unfussy, all immaculately clean and most thoughtfully presented. And I've never had a better breakfast anywhere I've stayed, everything is fresh and tasty. Lots to do around the area and fabulous scenery. No hesitation in giving this the highest possible recommendation, five stars for every aspect. Nothing else compares, so look no further.

“Outstanding”

Beinn Bhracaigh

This B&B is simply outstanding.

We stayed with friends over the weekend of the Etape, a cycling event around Pitlochry. The event started at 7am, so Alf laid on a early breakfast for the cyclist's with a later breakfast for their partners.

Alf and I'm sure Ann helped, cleared out his garage so the bikes could be stored. He then relised how much money he had in his garage and stayed up all night 'just in case'...

Words cannot describe how wonderful this place is... 'TOP DRAWER'.

We are going back next year to do the event, but I can't work out whether or not we are not just going back to relax and to be treat like Kings by these two wonderful hosts!!! His whisky selection is also worth the travel...

Cheers,
Martin, Mandy, Grant & Mel

After sending my parents here on a short break for their Xmas present (and listening to their rave reviews), we decided to head up for our anniversary, a rare break from the kids! Right from the moment we stepped into this classy B & B we knew we would enjoy ourselves - first impressions count! It honestly felt more like a luxury hotel with the fresh decor and tiled floors inviting you in, certainly exceeding our expectations and nothing like previous B & B's we have been to.

Ann & Alf make you feel extremely welcome from the second you meet them, with a personal service that is simply head and shoulders above the competition. We were treated to a guided tour around the dining room, lounge and bar area before we took keys to the room, and everything was explained on how things operate. The B & B is spotless, fresh and finished to a very high standard throughout.

The room we had was one of the Rannoch rooms, south facing and with spectacular views across the hills. The bed is one of the comfiest I have slept in, including my own (and that's saying something!). All the usual facilities and more are there including tea & coffee, hairdrier, flat screen TV, radio and DVD player. The en-suite is a good size with a powerful shower, always well stocked with toiletries.

This B & B is tailored towards relaxation, which we done with ease here. We were lucky enough to sample the beatiful gardens during the hottest day of the year so far here, it made it feel like you were on the continent! The bar and lounge is a haven of tranquility, where you help yourself to drinks and keep a note of them on the tab (a novelty for the 'would-be' barman!). The breakfasts are superb, with a good mix of traditional scottish & continental, but also with a couple of different items if you fancy it (I had the pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon one morning - yum!).

The level of service you receive at Beinn Bhracaigh is second to none, Ann & Alf being genuinely friendly, chatty, humerous and down-to-earth. They are always there but never in your way, and their recommendations on places to eat, etc. made our stay in Pitlochry so much more enjoyable. The B & B is a short 10min walk from the town centre, although it still feeels like you are in the middle of the country.

We have been to Pitlochry itself many times now as we only stay an hour away, it has so much to offer to people of all ages. We are glad we have discovered this absolute gem and will definitely be returning.
