After sending my parents here on a short break for their Xmas present (and listening to their rave reviews), we decided to head up for our anniversary, a rare break from the kids! Right from the moment we stepped into this classy B & B we knew we would enjoy ourselves - first impressions count! It honestly felt more like a luxury hotel with the fresh decor and tiled floors inviting you in, certainly exceeding our expectations and nothing like previous B & B's we have been to.
Ann & Alf make you feel extremely welcome from the second you meet them, with a personal service that is simply head and shoulders above the competition. We were treated to a guided tour around the dining room, lounge and bar area before we took keys to the room, and everything was explained on how things operate. The B & B is spotless, fresh and finished to a very high standard throughout.
The room we had was one of the Rannoch rooms, south facing and with spectacular views across the hills. The bed is one of the comfiest I have slept in, including my own (and that's saying something!). All the usual facilities and more are there including tea & coffee, hairdrier, flat screen TV, radio and DVD player. The en-suite is a good size with a powerful shower, always well stocked with toiletries.
This B & B is tailored towards relaxation, which we done with ease here. We were lucky enough to sample the beatiful gardens during the hottest day of the year so far here, it made it feel like you were on the continent! The bar and lounge is a haven of tranquility, where you help yourself to drinks and keep a note of them on the tab (a novelty for the 'would-be' barman!). The breakfasts are superb, with a good mix of traditional scottish & continental, but also with a couple of different items if you fancy it (I had the pancakes with maple syrup and crispy bacon one morning - yum!).
The level of service you receive at Beinn Bhracaigh is second to none, Ann & Alf being genuinely friendly, chatty, humerous and down-to-earth. They are always there but never in your way, and their recommendations on places to eat, etc. made our stay in Pitlochry so much more enjoyable. The B & B is a short 10min walk from the town centre, although it still feeels like you are in the middle of the country.
We have been to Pitlochry itself many times now as we only stay an hour away, it has so much to offer to people of all ages. We are glad we have discovered this absolute gem and will definitely be returning.
