“A very nice house in a very nice town”

Craigroyston House and Lodge

13 May 2008

We only had 1 night planned in Pitlochry, but after being greeted at Craigroyston House, I could have been comfortable there for much longer. The hostess was very friendly and helpful, our room was great with an updated bathroom. The location was very convenient, practically in the backyard of the local TI. Pitlochry was a pleasant little town, proud of its well-marked footpaths of varying lengths, and home to a couple whiskey distilleries. My husband toured Edradour and had a great time. I would definitely recommend Craigroyston to anyone looking for lodging!

“Fabulous accomodation!”

Craigroyston House and Lodge

19 Dec 2007

We stayed at Craigroyston self-catering Lodge in Stornoway in November, and even though it's not a month normally associated with holidays in the Outer Hebrides, we had a great time! There's plenty to do and see on Lewis - brochs, standing stones, blackhouses, and gorgeous scenery, interesting wee shops and cafes - check out The Blue Pig at Carloway!

Craigroyston Lodge is very modern and stylish, with all mod-cons and an absolutely huge TV, so if you get the odd spell of inclement weather, its great to sit in front of the fire and catch up on some old movies!

We were overwhelmed with the luxury of the Lodge - for the price, it was so much better than staying in a hotel. The furniture was very new and the whole place is spacious and tastefully decorated. There are views out over the sea to one side and a decked terrace where you can sit out in the summer on the other . It's about ten minutes walk into town, so near to shops and restaurants -if you can bear to tear yoursellf away from the Lodge!

The staff of Craigroyston Lodge and the other related properties (see their website) were very friendly, and owner Graham could not do enough for us - from coming round to show us techno-phobes how to switch on the TV, and even giving us a lift to the airport on the day of our departure!

We were planning to come back even before we had left!

“Highly recommended”

We were only in Pitlochry for a day but were very pleased with our stay at Craigroyston. We received a warm welcome as we arrived and found our room to be very nicely decorated with a comfortable four poster bed. The bathroom was spotless and the shower one of the best we had. The garden in the back was also well cared for and peaceful.
Breakfast in the morning was fantastic with a wide variety of choices on the menu. We received great service from the lady that took our order and promptly brought our food. (Sorry I did not catch her name).
I would also recommend a visit to the Moulin pub for a meal. The food was excellent with great atmosphere.

“Great place to stay”

Had a wonderful three night stay in this lovely bed and breakfast. We were in room 4, which has a four poster bed that was very comfortable. The en suite shower was fine and everything was spotlessly clean. Breakfast was delicious and cooked to order. I would recommend Craigroyston House and we will certainly be back. Pitlochry itself is a beautiful location and most certainly is the nicest town in the area, with lots of shops and scenic walks. There are plenty of places to eat and drink. Can't wait to return.

We were in Pitlochry to see the Enchanting Forest over a weekend, and accomodation was hard to find. All of the properties that have great reviews on this sight were booked out, so I found this one through the Scottish Tourist Board, and was surprised to see that no-one had left a review on this sight for it as yet. It turned out to be a good thing for us as they still had a room left.

They are located on the street just behind the Information office with off street parking and great walking access ot the town through the garden which brings you out into the parking lot next to the Information office. So we were very easy walking distance from the main road and not too far from the river. Its location is on a hill and therefore gives you great views form the house over the valley, which in October was full of beautiful Autumn colours.

The room was very comfortable, (we had the only downstairs one) and had an ensuite bathroom. It was even furnished with a 4 poster bed which was nice and comfortable.

Breakfast was plentiful and consisted of cerals, yoghurt, fresh fruit, toast and a cooked selection.

We had visited Pitlochry previously, so didn't ask too many questions of our hosts, but they were very friendly and provided maps of the town as well as a folder of local information in our room.

We would definately recommend this palce to any looking to stay in the area and would stay here again if revisiting the area.
