Stayed at the hotel for a family wedding. Paid £145 for a double room on B&B basis. Room was large, but very outdated. Bed was two singles pushed together with a double duvet on top. Bathroom had an avocado bath suite and a toilet that took 20 minutes to flush.
Overall, the room wasn't the cleanest, dust on most surfaces, cob webs on ceiling and the bathrobes had make up on the collars.
Room Service claimed to be 24 hours, yet when ordered at 0100 there appeared to be confusion as to whether there was food available. I ordered sandwiches, which came very quickly given the time. However, the bread was harder than the two single beds and could have been used to hammer nails in! Certainly not fresh or worth £6.
Breakfast was disappointing. No buffet type choices of cereals or fruit and no jugs of fruit juice etc. Everything had to be ordered from the waitress. Who given was on own to serve 16 coped very well.
No complaints re the cooked breakfast. Couldn't be faulted. But guests prefer a buffet style fruit, meat, cheese, bread, juice, cereal selection prior to any cooked service.
Altogether, I wouldn't recommend the hotel for anyone who is just looking for an overnight stay. As well as the points above, the dirt track in will leave you with damage to your car, as it did to mine, pot holes, raised mounds and ditches aren't what you expect at a high end country house hotel.
