Fairy Glen was on our list of must-see places and it was well worth the detour. As stated, the road is not well marked but it is right beside Captain Fraser's Folly (also worth a look).

Up a wicked little road that gave this American driver pause, we found an enchanted area including a tiny lake, green hillocks, daffodils in bloom, fallen down stone structures and even a tree that had fallen over, exposing all its roots that was still alive and growing.

Standing in the glen it is possible to forget that there are any humans nearby. It has a vey remote feeling.

The Fairy Glen is one more reminder that nature can produce magical wonders.

I saw the mention of Faerie Glen on trip advisor before our trip to Scotland in August 2003. Nearly missed it though! -- not well marked from the main road (it is minutes away from Uig - just 'round the bend) The glen was beautiful beyond compare. We felt like we dropped into Tolkien's world of the hobbits! In the middle of nowhere - you round a bend and small lakes and pock marked hillsides with waterfalls leap into view. Definately a treat - and definately worth the time and effort!

My husband and I visited this tiny place on the advice of some other web pages I found online. It was like stepping into a page of Tolken.
The glen was gorgeous and literally made me hit the brakes once I turned the corner. It was very hilly, covered in heather and moss and you swear you'd seeing sprites and fairies running about. Faerie glen is located near the Uig hotel down a single track road that is not marked from the main road way. If you have gone to the Uig ferry, you've gone to far! -- Faerie glen is 'round the bend and in the hills.Enjoy!

On a warm sunny day found it to be ridiculously beautiful, breathtaking, awe-inspiring, insert cliche of choice here. Magical.
