We had originally booked to stay at the Travelodge on the Kinsale Road but after reading the reviews here on Tripadvisor, we rapidly and at the very last minute changed it to the SAS Radisson, and thanked the stars that we did. We were staying in Cork for the Paul Weller Concert on the Sunday night. We were only needing to fly in, watch the concert and fly out as early as possible the following day. The hotel itself was clean and modern, as befits a hotel with scandanavian connections. There was everything you needed in the room (including a corby for those Alan Partridge types). The receptionists were professional and courtious, ordering taxi's, providing local advice and keeping our bags while we went into town early on Sunday. They did miss our alarm call however, but as we had enough alarms on our various electronic equipment, we didnt oversleep A trendy bar was a boon for a post concert pint of the black stuff, something I doubt the Travelodge would have been able to provide us! But best of all it was a quick stumble across to the terminal. Bed-to-gate in less than 30 mins thanks to online check in! Pity Ryanair couldnt maintain that sense of expediency!Downside to being so close was the noise of aircraft, but hey! Cork airport isnt exactly Heathrow.. While slightly more expensive than the Travelodge (£20 more on expedia) the better value of the Radisson was immeasurable against any flea ridden Travelodge.
