DATE APRIL 2008

Just back from a great holiday in Cork. We stayed at the Windsor Hotel which was great value for money. The staff were very friendly and helpful and the breakfast was brill! The hotel was in a great location for all the attractions and if you need any help just ask the staff they are all very nice. The added bonus for this hotel is that the airport bus drops off and picks up 2 mins walk from the door.

my boyfriend and i had to go to cork last weekend at short notice.we were only staying for one night and were just looking for a b&b or cheap hotel.i came across this hotel for 80 euro bed and breakfast. so we booked it.have to say didnt have high expectations! but i was proven wrong.when we arrived from a 4 hour drive from dublin we were met at reception by micheal who welcomed us and showed us to our room.he was extremely nice. the room was nice and cosy and spotless.the box of maltesers left on the pillow was a lovely touch! the bed was comortable and the fridge was a bonus.it was really central to everything.to top it all of the breakfast was gorgeous with lots of choice.obviously if your looking for lap of luxury this is not it.but for excellent food and customer service this is the one for you.

Windsor Inn is superbly and centrally located in the heart of Cork, literally a few minutes walk from the shopping and tourist areas.

The service was excellent, and the staff were exceptionally helpful and friendly.

The room was clean and had everything you could ask for. The breakfast was awesome; I can highly recommend an Irish Breakfast!

I was given lots of tourist information and suggestions of things to do, places to see and areas to visit, including directions, prices and tips.

I will certainly be visiting Cork again and will definitely be staying at The Windsor Inn again.

we decided on an last minute trip to Cork last weekend. when we arrived every hotel we went into was fully booked and we were in a bit of a panic. we came across the windsor house and lucky for us they had 1 room vacant. we took it no questions asked!! any1 looking for reasonable accomodation couldn't be disappointed. room was clean, hot water, towels, but best of all was the service and the breakfast. the chap on the desk couldn't have been more helpfull and the girl in the dining room was extremely bubbly and polite. we set off with full stomachs anyway. the place could really do with a bit of modernising but other than that it's fine. location is great for everything!!

We stayed her for 2 nights in August and i think we have talked more about the hotel than the actual trip! I read the review in the lonely planet online guide and they couldn't have put it better!

This place reminded us of Fawlty Towers - dust on the stairs about half an inch thick, and you need to be fit if your room is on the top floor, but the bedding was clean and freshly washed and the bathroom was clean, although the hot water didnt last long you the early brd caught the hot water - I got up at 10 and it was freezing! I now know an extra use for a half used toilet roll; to wedge the TV onto the stand! Ingenious and helped with the laughs.

The hotel itself is a stones throw away from the shops and you trip over yourself to the closest bar (on the ground floor of the building)

If you can out up with the dust and the brightly coloured rooms, its an ok place! The breakfasts cannot be knocked at all - the price was almost worth it for this alone!

This is definately budget accommodation but we enjoyed our stay and the staff were friendly when they actualy understood us!
