Being a cork Resident, my gf and I always love spending a weekend in the city and Windsor had been my best place until Micheal told me never to book in his inn again. Well, he booked me in room number 3. After the night I complained the mattress had surged at the center and the bathroom was flooding. As soon as I suggested this Micheal got very Irate and told me I could find a better place in cork and he or his staff would never allow me to stay in their property. Since then I have found a better and friendly Inn within cork where complains arent taken as an offense but used to make the place better for both the staff and the guests.

Windsor Inn is well located for touring the city or using as a central spot to stay while travelling Cork sites. However, be aware that they have so many stairs that you may get a whiff of ozone climbing - and they don't have a lift. So travel light! The room we had was a bit dismal, beds and bathroom not so great, and the wiring didn't work all that well (old place). The breakfast was nice, lots of choices. The staff was friendly and helpful. Parking is a bit difficult in the city, but the staff showed us a lot that worked well for us - as we were travelling most of the day and just needed a place to park for the night. It was a few blocks away, so again, travel light! A computer with internet access was available in the lobby and was a nice feature.

Arrived in Cork with nowhere to stay and was directed to the windsor by the owner of a nearby hostel. All I can say is I'm glad I didn't stay at the hostel. Room was clean and the (double) bed very comfortable. Staff couldn't be more helpful. The breakfast was great and i didn't need to eat again till evening! Excellent value for money in a convenient location.

  • This TripAdvisor Member:
    • Liked — clean room, double bed, hearty breakfast, free internet
    • Disliked — no complaints really, it's on a busy road but my room was quiet. don't know about the rooms at the front of the hotel.

“Great staff, clean, cheap, perfect”

Great Hostel. Located in a street full of pubs were live music is played. Great staff (when we went we only met one of them, a blonde girl, and she was really really nice with us. Breakfast is included and we had such a "full" Irish breakfast that we did not have lunch afterwards. Price is very good according to what the hostel is. We had spent a night in a naarby hostel and it was awful, so after that, we came here and paying only 50 euros for a double room ensuite, we had an big room, with kettle, TV and shampoo. The room and bathroom was very clean. We went on September 2007, so the prices must have risen a bit.

The folks that operate this bed and breakfast are just great. We were unfamiliar with the town and they came to where we were and showed us the way to their B&B. The rooms were large, clean, and tea/coffee were available in the room. The staff were available day and night. Internet access was available 24/7 and the location was ideal. Right in the middle of town close to shopping and amusements. Secure environment.
Breakfast was full Irish breakfast, cereal, fruits and juices and included an assortment of breads.

    • Disliked — Nothing, it was great, the people very friendly
