I was originally booked into Jurys Inn, Cork City and that sounded way too bland for me, so one of the people recommended East Village in Douglas (outskirts of Cork). They said it has a Sports Bar which was handy as their was a soccer game on that night - Manchester United vs Barcelona. The nicest thing was when I arrived - that I was not asked for a credit card imprint. My god - finally some trust in this world. The room upstairs was fine and free internet was also very good. I rushed downstairs ordered some food and settled into the game. The food came out hot and just right. The waitress was chatty and the bar area quite full. You can eat upstairs in the restaurant for exactly the same price, if you want some peach and quiet. I had the baby back ribs for entree and the lamb crown rack for mains. The lamb was a little fatty but their is not much you can do about that. The next morning was breakfast (extra 5euros if you want hot) which i did not know about and then I proceeded to do some work for the next 1-2 hours. The staff worked around me and this enabled me to get a whole lot done without having to go into office. This was a big plus and did not seem to bother the staff. Very good. All in all, very good and very good value for money.
