stayed with my wife for one night in january after a disaster at Kees Hotel,Ballybofey. This hotel was great, beautiful foyer with two open real fires, none of that gas fire/no heat rubbish a lot of new hotels seem to favour ! Great food in the bar, great bar itself, very attentive staff, clean pool and jacuzzi, fab steam room and tidy changing rooms with good showers. room itself (251- smoking) was huge and clean with large bathroom and a seperate shower cubicle & bath. All in all - the best hotel out of the 3 we stayed in over this 4 day trip ( carlton redcastle/ kees). Will recommend to friends. If they lowered their prices just slightly, this place would be packed to the rafters !

“lovely rooms, bad service”

Mill Park Hotel

Room was lovely, spacious, clean, warm & well decorated. Staff at reception were efficient and helpful. Swimming pool was nice and clean. Hotel in general was well designed and spotless.
The only thing that was bad was service in the restauarant upstairs above the lobby area. There were about 3 or 4 waiters/waitresses plus a supervisor and none of them seemed to have a clue of good food service. I wouldnt have minded if it was busy but there were only 2 tables in both with 2 couples on them & there wasnt any weddings or functions on either. Whilst waiting for the starters they bought out brown bread and butter, we ate this and ordered more brown bread as our starters seemed to be taking so long- well it took the waitress about 10 mins to get more brown bread!!!The starters then took another 10 mins to come out and there was a gap of 5 mins between them bringing out my starter & my partners which meant he was finished his before mine came out. (seriously bad waitressing) I am really not exaggerating on the times that it took for our food to actually arrive at our table.......After the starters were cleared the main course took approx. another 15 mins to come out, we were still waiting for the bottle of wine we had ordered...no sign of it??
When they bought out the mains there was another gap between my dinner and my partners & the side orders etc, he was half finished his dinner by the time mine arrived. They took ages to clear away our plates, and still there was only 1 other couple in the restaurant? Desserts were same took about 10/15 mins to bring them out even though mine was chocolate mousse-didnt need to be heated or anything, finally we reminded the waiter about the wine we had ordered, he then bought it to us during dessert. The food was just average and the staff were polite but just really badly trained. Breakfast was fine the next morning, no other complaints......

My wife and I stayed at this hotel on a weekend break 2B/B + 1evening meal. Weather was awful but compensated for by the hotel amenities. The evening meal was outstanding and drink prices were reasonable. All of the staff that we encountered were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were well appointed and a good size.
We shopped in Donegal Town just 5 mins away and also
Letterkenny and Ballybofey

we would certainly consider booking another break at this hotel
