We had a great time. The hotel is informal, clean, comfortable - the hosts are warm and welcoming, the rooms spacious and superior. They have peat fires. It is perfectly located - so easy to get to pristine beaches, Bluestack mountains, wild countryside - and 2 minutes from Donegal town. No hesitation in recommending this hotel.

I stayed here as a business traveller for 2 nights in April and my experience was wonderful. Convenient enough to where I had to do my work, it was a joy to return to my gorgeous, spacious room each evening. Once there I found it so relaxing I didn't want to leave, so one night having brought dinner back with me, I didn't! It was a case of getting into pajamas, settling down with my laptop and not moving while I launched into a pizza still in its box. Somehow, it just didn't feel like work!
The bed was huge and comfortable, the room furnishings luxurious and tasteful and the bathroom spotless. The shower could have done with a bit more power but having travelled all over Ireland and stayed in plenty of hotels charging twice the price, I'm experienced enough to know that low pressure isn't unique to this property. It's an Irish thing and that's it.
Breakfast was out of this world and I was surprised and delighted to be asked on my arrival what fruit I like to which I replied, "Anything", so happy was I that somene actually cared! I arrived to breakfast to discover freshly stewed rhubarb which was absolutely delicious (and rhubarb is damn tricky to get right) served with yogurt. This normally would have been enough for me but I couldn't resist the "Full Irish", something I normally only get once a year when visiting my parents in Canada at Christmas! Fresh croissants, orange juice, toast, tea... it was never-ending and it literally set me up for the whole day. I'm not kidding- I didn't eat again until dinner that evening!
Finally, a word for the wonderful hostess, Sian. I felt so at home while I was there I was reminded of my parents home in Toronto. I don't think I've ever stayed anywhere so comfortable and cosy while on the road. I'll be back in Donegal in a couple of weeks and though I could probably find somewhere I bit closer to where I need to be, I won't be looking for it, preferring to return to Donegal Manor.

From the minute we arrived we fell in love with this place! The owner Sian, and her husband were v welcoming. The B&B itself was more like a 5* hotel, the room was massive with great facilities - hairdryer, coffee maker, huge comfortable beds, v helpful tourist information booklet. Sian & her husband offered to book us into our restaurant (Doms) and have taxis at the B&B whenever we needed to go without us asking - v thoughtful people.
We'd been to a wedding on the Saturday & came back to rest & have a glass of champagne in our rooms - Sian kindly said we could sit in front of their huge fire downstairs, even brought us lovely champagne glasses, and after the champagne was finished - a huge put of coffee & biscuits to perk us up before leaving for our night ahead!
The breakfast was something else - best I've ever had in a B&B or hotel. Wonderful staff - nothing was too much trouble.
We will definitely be back to this B&B for many trips to Donegal! Fantastic value for money & a wonderul relaxing stay. We all couldn't speak highly enough of the place - a real find!

This is a wonderful guest house which is more like a hotel! The reception area is warm and inviting, the rooms are large and spacious. Our room had two double beds and all the amenities you would find in a hotel room! Sian, the owner of the guest house whom we dealt with, is lovely. Very welcoming and more than willing to recommend places to visit and eat. The service was excellent, the rooms were cleaned every day, the beds were made, tea and coffee supplies were replenished and clean towels were left in the bathroom. The cooked breakfast in the morning is just the ticket to set you up for the day ahead. I would recommend this guest house to anyone who is looking for accommodation of a very high standard at a reasonsable price in a quiet location! We will definitely be back to Donegal Manor.
