I have read some of the reviews before our trip and I just was very surprised because we have stayed in Longfields before (2002 and 2004) and we always found the hotel and the staff be fantastic. We decided to book again and see with our own eyes if the hotel really has been gone down.
To our surprise we found on arrival so many familiar faces to greet us , so it was like coming home and the same smile and warm greeting really took away all the doubts we had before.
The manager Kalvi and his dedicated staff are paying attention to every small or big problem we had and they have done everything just to make us feel like home. The rooms are being renovated and the hotel is still same and lovley. Even if the bathrooms are smaller than in modern hotels it is totally acceptable to take consideration that it is old Georgian house.
The breakfast is already worth everything. The huge continental buffet table and the choice of warm meals as well. Sadly the restaurant is at the moment under renovation but there is so many good intimate restaurants in walking distance.
Hotel has their own movie channels and I have to say that the movies shown are comedies and romance/drama mainly and very appropiate for the style of the hotel. No violence or horror. The drawing room is just like the Georgian townhouse should have and to have served afternoon tea with cream and scones really makes you feel like living in georgian era.
I have to say that we are not at all disapointed and we will always choose Longfields as our home away from home, just because of the staff helpfulness and the atmosphare.
Manager Kalvi really knows how to make your needs and wishes come true and the service and kindness of staff all made for an excellent stay
Please keep on and we wish you the best for the future.
