We just got back from a 4day Ireland stay. I am very happy I chose this establishment. First Ireland has a very good transportation system for tourist. So from the airport to this hotel you take the 747 airlink (6euros one way or 10euros roundtrip) Jurys Inn is stop number 10 and the hotel is maybe another 2minutes walk from the stop. Note: we only did oneway because we had an early flight back and the airlink was not going to be operating at the time we needed to leave. So on the way back to the airport we got a taxi. If you pay in Euro is is a flat fee of 20euros for up to 4people. There are Taxis that take credit cards. The hotel will request those for you.~
We arrived early and I was aready aware the hotel was full from the night before so Jenni was awesome. Did our baggage storage for us, Gave us suggestions of what to do ..etc. Even though we did not request an early check-in she said she would try and give us one.~
The hotel location is really good for everywhere you want to be in Dublin city. It is maybe a 10minute walk from Temple bar and just a few minutes more to Suffolk street (the tourism office) were all the day tours leave each morning. Sunrise in the summer is around 4am (yes that early) so you could easily walk to catch your tours, if not there is a taxi station right outside the hotel. It was a little less than 7euros to the tourism office.
St Patrick's Cathedral was I think 2 blocks behind the hotel. Christ Church was directly across from the hotel. There are 2 different hop on/hop off bus options just outside the hotel.
There is a store beside the hotel that sells drinks, sodas, chips candy magazines..(Note: at the store do not waste your money on the 2liter soda that is .75euros, if was gross and tasted like a chemical. Just stick to the brand name beverages.)
There are ton of places to eat around the area and some dont take credit cards so plan accordingly.
Our room was 521. VERY SPACIOUS! There was 3 of us traveling. we had a double, twin and a double sleeper sofa plus plenty of room to accommodate our bags. I found our beds to be very comfortable no one complained. As most hotels in Dublin dont have air conditioner neither did our room. I was okay with it, but one of our travelers was plus size and was always hot. The housekeeper happen to walk by and saw her fanning, found her an additional fan and helped us open the windows..etc. The only negative part of the room was maybe in their attempts to conserve water, the toilet tank took FOREVER to fill after each flush. So it became a bit frustrating when everyone had to use the bathroom and would have to wait a while for the tank to flush (I just added water to the tank to help it along quicker.) The bathrooms have liquid soap and like most europe hotels not wash cloths. The rooms were clean to satisfaction each day.
I wanted to go a little further and acknowledge Irek that went above and beyond to assist one of my traveler friends whos credit card would not work. I think they together spent over and hour trying to get through to the bank to get the issue resolved. Another kudos to Joseph who seemed to have the answer to EVERY question we asked him (which was alot..lol.)
I didnt get to use the restaurant because we had early morning tours to the Cliffs of Moher and Blarney Castle (see my reviews) and then they returned late in the evening so we had already eaten by the time we got back to our room. I would stay here again with no problem at all.
521 is very very spacious family room or a group traveling together. It also faces Christ Church
