Booked a two night stay as a 40th birthday surprise for my wife. Fantastic location just off O'Connell street. We were able to access our room at 10.30. Spotlessly clean and such a comfortable bed. The package included a lounge which was a little wasted on us but for kids it would have been a useful tv room. Bathroom was excellent and the power shower was a blast! TV picture on the flat screen was poor but it wasn't a major problem. Very useful free internet in the lobby and the breakfast was self service and superbly cooked.
My wife was suitably impressed and we would highly recommend the hotel to anyone venturing to Dublin.

Booked the hotel on their own website, after seeing a special rate offered on the Ryanair website.

Hotel was easy to find, visible from O'Connell St, very near where the bus drops you off (bus from airport costs €6). Basically get off the bus, face the Gresham Hotel, turn left up O'Connell St, then look down the side roads and you will see the Best Western logo. First impressions were good, the staff were very friendly, the foyer of the hotel was very nice and clean.

Our room was on the 5th floor and was more than adequate. My girlfriend and I had plenty of storage for our 2 night stay, although we said that if we were staying for longer we might have preferred a bigger room (probably just us being picky!). The room was spotlessly clean, so no complaints there. The bed was amazingly comfortable, I WANT ONE!

The location is excellent, less than a minute to the shops on O'Connell St, about 15 minutes leisurely walk to Temple Bar (we got a cab back one of the nights due to girlfriend having sore feet - €7), and a couple more minutes to Grafton St. We got a bus (no. 123) to the Guinness Storehouse while we were there which only cost €2.20 for both of us (you need coins though - they didn't take notes on buses we got on except the airport one) and the stop was just down the road on O'Connell St.

In the hotel foyer, you can browse the web and access emails etc, the hotel charges for print offs. Could be worth it, as Guinness storehouse has a 10% discount if you book online (well, did when I booked). We did not use the restaurants so can't really comment, although the bar was nice and the food they bought out looked good.

All in all, if you are having a couple of days in Dublin and you want a nice, clean, centrally located hotel then this is it. I can't find any fault with this hotel whatsoever. If/when we come back to Dublin we will definitely stay here.

Wow! Absolutely perfect location, just off O'Connell street and a really easy walk to Temple Bar.

The reception area of the hotel has two Apple Macs for guests to use for free so Daughter no. 2 was quite happy to feed her internet obsession whilst I booked us in.

We had booked a triple room - absolutely spotless, and I'm really fussy; i.e. the sort of person who tests the dust level on the tops of doors .. yes, sad I know, but there you go. The room was immaculate, as was the bathroom, which was also supplied with the fluffiest of towels which were replaced daily, as were the tea and coffee supplies.

The size of the room was fine .. we hadnt expected a suite and there was plenty of room to move about.

The view from the window left a bit to be desired, but we weren't there for the window view ... and I had to walk around with a bag over my head so that no one would recognise me after a particularly shameful morning when I was wandering around in just my knickers, looked out of the window, and was greeted with a couple of fellas staring straight at me from the window opposite. Ooops.

Mr. Saffy and I had breakfast one morning and stuffed ourselves on lovely warm bread, full irish breakfast, cups and cups of coffee and some lovely fresh fruit. We hadn't booked breakfast and paid 12 euros each for this, and it was well worth it.

Prices in the bar not too bad either. I had two glasses of wine, Daughter No. 2 had a bottle of water, and Mr. Saffy had a guinness and it came to 18.9 euros .. fair price for a hotel bar I thought.

I'd definitely return.

Had a fabulous three day stay in Dublin at the Academy Plaza Hotel. The room was very good (recently refurbished) with lovely, comfy double bed (very unusal when booked as a single room) and a decent sized bathroom with power shower. The restaurant at breakfast time was very busy but there was plenty of choice and at a reasoanble price although staff didn't clear tables very quickly. The lovely leather sofas in both reception and the bar were great to relax into after a heavy day sight seeing!! Would defintely stay there again. Staff were very helpful too.

“Good location, nice price”

Thanks for good help in picking a centrally located hotel for a short week-end with my husband in Dublin this spring. Not no.1 on my list, but the best available.
The location was great, close to the airport bus stop and just off one of the big shopping streets, still silent.
The room was also just fine, nothing special but clean and fresh and with a nice bathroom.
The breakfast was as mentioned earlier here not worth the price, but of course convenient.
The staff was friendly and helpful.
