“Great place”

Abbey Hotel

30 Jun 2008

Great hotel with very friendly staff. Small but very comfortable rooms with clean bathroom. Perfect location, right in the center of Dublin, next to Temple Bar. The hotel has a lift. The food was good and the bar of the hotel was a nice place to enjoy a few pints ! Would definitely go back there if I go back to Dublin !

“Great short stay”

Abbey Hotel

Manchester

We have just returned from 2 nights in Dublin. We stayed at the Abbey Hotel on Middle Abbey St, just off O'Connel St and right in the city centre.

We arrived very early, but our room was ready. It was a pleasant room on the top floor, but there was a lift. The room was not as cramped as I expected for a 2* hotel at a very cheap price. Apart from a slightly dodgy TV everything else in the room was great - and a good bathroom en suite.

The staff were friendly. The fried breakfast was lovely, with plenty of cereals, juices, fruit, tea and coffee (probably instant, however).

We didn't use the bar/restaurant.

I don't think we'd want to have a long stay here, but for a budget-priced short stay it was superb in a brilliant location.

“Fantastic hotel in excellent location”

This hotel is situated just off O'Connell Street so is ideally located near just about everything. We arrived a little early and our room was not ready so we had our first drinks and lunch in the bar Mojo's. Very good food big portions nice atmosphere during the day.

The room was spacious and clean. It has the usual amenities - tea/coffee facilities, trouser press. Breakfast was really good for 3 euros extra you can get it room serviced. We tried but they were short staffed that day so couldn't. The choice is irish breakfast (english breakfast), omlette with chips etc or cold buffet. Very quick service and tasty hits the spot with a hangover.

Check out easy they have a room to store luggage in.

Would def stay here again was one of the cheaper hotels in the area and fantastic location.

“Great central location, cheap stay for short break”

Abbey Hotel

The central location, just off o'connell street is great. The rooms are very basic (similar to a 2* b n b in Blackpool). Bathroom was very basic and needed updated, however, for the cheap price you can't grumble, you get what you pay for. Staff were very helpful and let us check in just after 9am as a room was available. Included Irish cookded breakfast was very good and tasty, plenty to eat, also had chips for breakfast if you so wished! For a simple cheap stay if you're not bothered about comforts then this is for you. A conveniently located hotel (close walk from bus stop and taxi's) with pleasant staff, would use again if wanted cheap overnight stay. We also had our 4 yr with us, is fine for families.
