We stayed here 2 years ago, no problem. This trip was not the same. If you take a flight from the USA and arrive early morning, do not expect a room. We waited hours and the reception staff is not friendly or helpful at all. We were so dead tired, but they made no effort at all to find us a room quickly, even though people we checking out like crazy. It's not even possible to pop out and see some sights while your room is being made ready. You are too far from everything. It was just not nice. Not one of the cleaning staff speaks english and the restaraunt is so, so over priced.
The one thing I must make totally clear. This hotel is not an easy walk to city center. Do not believe anything you read. I am tall and walk fast and it was a good 35-45 minutes to city center.
The DART is super close though. It is $6.50 Euro cab ride.
The area is very upscale and lovely, but if possible I think you would enjoy Dublin more, if you stayed closer to the action.

Finally remember to finish writing the reviews for my Ireland trip last September (2007). Paid 109 Euros per night at the Bewley's., which is a decent rate for Dublin. Room is decorated sort of standard, but very clean, and relatively spacious. The exterior of the hotel is very nice, and the garden in the front is sort of a nice touch too. Didn't try the restaurant there so not sure about the food.

Location is far from action, but bus stops are half a block from the hotel and fairly frequent. It's too far to walk into town, so taking the bus / taxi is your only option. The hotel is right next to an Embassy (British?), and not much else in terms of restaurans or shops. It's pretty much a residential neighborhood.

The receiptionists at the front desk are very friendly and helpful. One day the tour we booked didn't pick us up, and they offered to call the tour company for us and talk to them. Another time their printer in the business room didn't work, and one of the ladies offered to print it for us from her computer at the front.

Air Coach also stops right at the hotel, so going to or coming from the airport is super easy. Just remember to save your ticket if you bought a roundtrip one.

(At the beginning of the trip we stayed in Premier Suites Dublin, which I also recommend but you're paying about 170 Euros)

When we were in Dublin, we stayed at Bewley's Hotel in Ballsbridge. The hotel isn't fancy, but it is very clean and comfortable. The Air Coach stops right next to the hotel, on the street between Bewley's and the Four Seasons Hotel, so that was very convenient. The DART train was about 2 blocks away, and the bus stopped right in front of it, though we never took the bus. The first day we didn't even use the DART, but took the City Tour free shuttle bus that stops on the street between Bewley's and the Four Seasons Hotel. We had dinner at O’Connell’s Restaurant in the hotel on Easter Sunday – it was the best meal we had in Dublin! We ate our breakfasts in the hotel too, but we only had croissants, fresh squeezed juice, and tea. In the evenings, we had a nightcap in the cozy bar. We would definitely go back!

Very Good value for money. Found the hotel very clean, staff polite and always helpful. Spent 5 days at this hotel and have no complaints. Breakfast was good and the early bird evening meal which we had twice was very good indeed and excellant value for money compared to other meals we ate while in Dublin. The area round the hotel is very nice and only 10/15 mins by bus to the centre. Would not hesitate to use this hotel again.

My daughter and i stayed here last night as we were going to a Rihanna concert in the RDS and it couldnt have been more perfect. check in was fast, receptionist very polite and helpful. we had a 3rd floor room, its a very big hotel, the room was perfect, a double and a single bed , tv iorn hairdryer and the best thing about it was that it was so spotlessly clean you could nearly eat off the floor!! the bed was the most comfortable i have ever slept in,.the ensuite was also immaculate it had a bath with over head shower. our room looked right across at the four seasons hotel..It is literally just around the corner from thr RDS only a 3 min walk which is just brilliant. breakfast is served in an option of 2 ways, 1...pay the set amount of 11 euro per adult and 70 cent per year of childs age eg:a 7 yr old pays 4eu90cent.or 2.....work off the individually priced menu, this opyion worked better for us as we only had croissant and juice so therefore was cheaper to pay per item, if u are planning on filling up for the day ahead id chooese option 1!All in all a lovely hotel in a great location for proximity to the RDS but maybe not if you want to be in the centre as its about 15 mins by bus to o connell st, but personally i would stay here as the hotel and its pleasntness outweighs the proximity to be based in the city centre for me.
