I booked here through a discount website, and for the price I got, I was very happy. The room was in good condition, as was the bathroom, both of which were a good size. The in room coffee was a benefit. Check in and check out were easy and efficient. Best of all is the location, right in the middle of everything, without being in the noise of Temple Bar - its about a ten minute walk from Temple Bar. I would certainly stay here again next time I am in Dublin.

“won't stay here again”

The noise outside in the street went on til all hours of the night. My room was near the elevator so I kept getting disturbed by it,also there were guests coming and going until 3am and with the walls being paper thin it was impossible to sleep. The tv only had 2 channels and the room was tiny.
Don't stay here if your actually looking to get some sleep as I was since I had an early morning flight the next day.Stay in the regency instead, its cheaper, quieter and the rooms are bigger.

The hotel is well located but can be noisy with O'Connell St in the front and an alley way in the back. The place is cheap so you've got to give it credit for that as well as having basic standards of service. Overall go with the attitude that it's only somewhere to sleep and you won't be disappointed.

I had the pleasure of staying for a couple of nights in January and found the Lynhams Hotel to be a real delight. I've stayed at several hotels in Dublin but found this one to be ideal on all levels. There is no better hotel for location being smack bang in the middle of Oconell Street and the rooms are quaint and very clean. The staff are very helpful and Carlo's restaurant located within the hotel is fab serving really tasty italian dishes. The prices are very reasonable especially when booked through the Dublin tourist office - So enjoy your stay !!

“Excellent Location”

Lynam's Hotel

I got a double room for €69 and we stayed on the 4th January 2006. Great price.
I'll start from the start!

We actually found it hard to find the hotel at first!!
It is number 68 O'Connell street and is on the right hand side if you are looking towards the river Liffey, about 20 or so metres up from the GPO and beside the spire.
It doesn't have a big sign and is squashed in between a Mcdonalds and a Spar, it's a black coloured building with an awning and Lynhams written quite small on the wall!

Arrived early and left our bags in foyer with about 30 others. Didn't feel that comfortable leaving them there so took out anything important.

Excellent location, got a ticket from the hop on-hop off bus just outside and walked to grafton street from the hotel the next day, took about 15 mins.

Room clean and comfy (room 28 facing O'Connell Street, nice view), woke during the night to stifling heat and a window that was jammed open just a little bit (see pic), only noticed the fan on our table the next day! I guess we had put our bags and things on top! Doh!
Bathroom small but clean, plaster on ceiling peeling a bit.

Receptionist lovely and friendly, knew the answers to all our questions, night porter surly enough. doors close at 11pm but a quick ring on the bell gets him on his feet.

The 747 double decker express bus leaves every 10mins to the airport just outside and a bit to the left of the hotel. Cost is €5.

Would have been 5 stars but for the heat issue. Location cannot be faulted.
