I got a double room for €69 and we stayed on the 4th January 2006. Great price.
I'll start from the start!
We actually found it hard to find the hotel at first!!
It is number 68 O'Connell street and is on the right hand side if you are looking towards the river Liffey, about 20 or so metres up from the GPO and beside the spire.
It doesn't have a big sign and is squashed in between a Mcdonalds and a Spar, it's a black coloured building with an awning and Lynhams written quite small on the wall!
Arrived early and left our bags in foyer with about 30 others. Didn't feel that comfortable leaving them there so took out anything important.
Excellent location, got a ticket from the hop on-hop off bus just outside and walked to grafton street from the hotel the next day, took about 15 mins.
Room clean and comfy (room 28 facing O'Connell Street, nice view), woke during the night to stifling heat and a window that was jammed open just a little bit (see pic), only noticed the fan on our table the next day! I guess we had put our bags and things on top! Doh!
Bathroom small but clean, plaster on ceiling peeling a bit.
Receptionist lovely and friendly, knew the answers to all our questions, night porter surly enough. doors close at 11pm but a quick ring on the bell gets him on his feet.
The 747 double decker express bus leaves every 10mins to the airport just outside and a bit to the left of the hotel. Cost is €5.
Would have been 5 stars but for the heat issue. Location cannot be faulted.
