“The Louis Fitzgerald Hotel Brilliant”

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel

I booked the hotel in a rush as I aqquired tickets for the westlife concert unexpectedly. I have travelled to Dublin a lot over the years and this is the best hotel I have ever stayed in. It is as relaxed and intimate as a familty run hotel with the class and comfort of the four star standard it has.It has a shuttle bus to the Luas but the walk is only 10 mins max. The staff were excellent in particular Francis who was in the residence bar. He was as helpful and chatty as if it was two o clock in the day instead of two in the morning. The breakfast was lovely served in beautiful surroundings.I will definitely be going back and would recommend this hotel to any one.

“Great Hotel”

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel

27 May 2008

We stayed at this hotel for three nights for the Curragh Racing . The hotel english speaking Staff were really helpful, organising our transport to and from the course, and advising us on the most cost effective way of getting around Dublin. We caught the Luas ( tram) into Dublin and a shuttle service runs from the hotel to the station if you don't want to walk the 20 minutes or so over a dodgy road and footbridge.
The hotel is relatively new, (opened Sept 2007) and if you do happen to catch a taxi from the airport or back from Dublin, very few taxi drivers have heard of it,! - they have heard of Joels restaurant though, which is situated just in front of the hotel and has been there for a number of years, before the hotel was built. It serves a huge range of delicious freshly prepared food, a lot cheaper than the hotel itself.
The rooms are modern, spacious and very clean with a luxury range of toiletries, flat screen tv's, safe, hairdrier and ironing board. Everything is utilised with a key card, from opening the door to using the lift, which helps with your peace of mind for security I suppose.
The breakfast is superb, with fresh fruit, yoghurts, pastries, and a chef will make your eggs/omlette any way you like.

My only groans were the non english reception staff didn't offer to take our bags up to our room when we arrived, we were not told about the facilities of the hotel and how you had to use the key card for the lift, cold drinks and snacks cabinet, etc and when we ordered room service, the evening staff were not english speaking and they couldn't understand us- not enough of a reason to stop us going there again though !!.

Great modern hotel, rooms well equipped , staff very pleasant , fab breakfast, excellent value.the only thing that was disapponting was the shuttle bus service (not owned by hotel) was very unreliable and let us down twice ! so we had to get taxis and over the 2 days we were there cost about 90 euros each to get into city.

“What a great find!”

We recently went to Ireland and we spent weeks trying to find a nice hotel that we could afford. The hotels are so expensive! We found the Louis Fitzgerald on trip advisor and were hesitant to stay here because it was so cheap and we heard the location wasn't great. We decided to book it since we simply could not afford the others and didn't want to stay in a hostel or anything. When we got to Dublin, it was hard to find at first but we had a gps so it was no problem. The outside is a very odd style of architecture. There is a gas station right in from of the hotel which was awesome!! The parking was free and the parking attendant was so nice. When we checked in the front desk rep wasn't the nicest person but we didn't care. The room exceeded our expectations so much!! It was so big and had a gorgeous flat screen t.v and robes and the bed was so comfortable! We were so relieved with how clean and modern the room was. The location was no bad at all.. I would say if you don't have a car this hotel wouldn't be very convenient for you, but we were thrilled with the location. It is just outside of the city centre (about 10 minutes by car) which is great cause the city centre is loud and busy. We went on road trips around the country so it was nice for us not to have to enter and exit the city centre every time we left. The hotel is right off a busy highway and it was very convenient for us to pick up and go. The food was expensive and not the best but we just walked to the gas station and bought treats. We were so lucky to have found this hotel because it met everything we wanted, it was a great price,it was clean and modern, and it had free parking. We were thrilled and if we ever go to Dublin again we will stay here for sure!!

“Great value for money”

Louis Fitzgerald Hotel

13 May 2008

I selected this hotel, because I was looking for something cheaper, but nice - the rate was about 100USD, which is incredible considering the superlow exchange rate of USD vs EURO. The hotel was absolutely, positively a great deal for the money.

Location - From the airport, follow signs for M1/M50, then M50, then take exit 9 to N7. The hotel is on the right side of N7 shortly after Red Cow roundabout (which means you have to make a U-turn) behind an ESSO gas station.

I am giving these directions, simply because neither Via Michelin, nor our Hertz GPS could figure out where the hotel was located and we had to be guided via our cell phones by somebody at the hotel.

There is plenty of construction road work going on around, but there isnt much traffic during the non-rush hours of the day.

We chose to explore Dublin using public transportation. We parked our car at the LUAS park and ride facilities (Red Cow stop is located less than 5 min drive straight from the hotel) - parking costs 4 euro per day, and LUAS roundtrip ride - 3.80euro to City Center. The trip itself is about 30min. The trains come and go every 6-8 min depending on the time of the day. Very clean and pleasant to ride on.

Staff/Check-in - In our few dealings with the staff - they were very courteous, polite, pleasant and basically anything you would want a hotel staff to be. Check-in was fast and efficient.

Rooms - Since the hotel is pretty new - rooms are very nice, typical business hotel of new type, clean cut, nice carpet, nice toiletteries, shower; and they were actually pretty well lit despite the somewhat small windows. Size was average, but just enough. Please see my pics - I have tried to capture the essentials. Wireless internet is free.

Overall hotel - The clientelle of the hotel seems to be primarily business oriented, as I was mostly seeing people in suits and ties during the day. We, though, were a family of three travelling on leisure, and despite the business orientation of the hotel, they did have a baby cot available and ready to use. The hotel interior is modern trendy (see pics again) and in harmony with its rooms. The hotel exterior is as pleasant as it can be considering its location (behind a gas station), but since I slept inside not outside, the exterior doesnt take away from my 5 star review.

Good job! Will visit again especially at this rate!
