“Relaxing Break”

Amber Hill Bed & Breakfast

Me and my partner stayed at Amber Hill for a weekend in March. Our room was lovely and clean with bright pleasant decor and that vital blackout blind for the morning after the night before.
Amber Hill has all a B and B has to offer and more. Our ensuite room was well sized and cosy at the same time. The fist thing I did was throw myself on the bed and watch the Simpsons. (Hardly the thing to do in such a fantastic scenic location) but I was thrilled with the comfort of the place. Patrick, one of the owners, gave us a quick tour of the house and went out of his way to make sure we were welcome. I warmly recommend Amber Hill B and B If you are visiting Galway. The region has a wide variety of activities available on your doorstep with tastes to suit everyone.

Myself and my partner stayed at Amber Hill B+B for a weekend at the end of March. On arrival to Galway we were given clear helpful directions on the phone from the owner. He rang us back on his phone which saved us our credit and was handy. On arrival to the B+B we were greeted with a friendly reception and shown to our rooms, the owner was very helpful and was happy to answer any of our questions. The room was clean and quiet cosy and the bathroom facilities were great. They provided bottled water for our cleaning and drinking needs as there is a water problem in Galway.
We were given good info about the nightlife in Galway and were advised as to which were the best pups and clubs to go to plus we were given concessions.
Breakfast was lovely and on time in the mornings and the service was fast and friendly.
I would recommend Amber Hill to anyone that wants to have a great weekend in Galway.

“absolutely loved it”

Amber Hill Bed & Breakfast

we stayed here following a recommendation by a colleague of mine.
My husband & I were having a well earned break from the kids for our anniversary. We arrived at the B&B shortly before 12pm and were greeted by the proprioters who were extremely helpful. They made us tea & sandwiches which was just what we needed after our journey. Our room was absolutely spotless, and decorated to an extremely high standard. Bottled water was provided for us for tea making etc. Galway have some water issue at the moment but it was great to know these guys were still providing the tea/coffee facility. They booked a table for us at the Galleon Restaurant in Salthill and rather than organising a taxi for us they drove us and gave us their mobile number in case we had any difficulty in getting a taxi later that night. They recommended several bars for us, their knowledge of the area is very impressive.
Breakfast the next morning far exceeds any I've every experienced - the dining room was also immaculate. We were invited to relax for a while in the lounge after breakfast but as inviting as it was we needed to head home. I would have absolutely no qualms in recommending this b&b

Amber Hill was clean and comfortable but without the personal touch and charm of the other B&Bs we stayed at in Ireland. It is not Family run and was set up more like a hotel. There is an issue with the water in Galway right now and you can not drink it without getting sick. They provided us with a bottle of water to brush our teeth with. The toliet took 10 minutes to refill after each flush and the shower only had 2 mins of hot water.
It was nice to stay out of the city and it was up the hill from the Salthill beach area. From Salthill you can take tours to Connemara and the Aran Islands. I recommend the location but think you could do better with another B&B in Salt hill.
