We enjoyed our stay at Ross Castle Lodge.

The location is quiet and away from the main town of Killarney.
It is right next to the National Park and a few minutes walk from Ross Castle. We preferred this even though it meant a bit of a walk to Killarney in the evening for a meal.

There is a road/track directly opposite Ross castle lodge that you can take to Killarney through the national park. (follow this until the river and turn right). We saw a herd of red stag cross our path on our walk here.

This walk will take about 25 minutes to the main restaurant area in Killarney (main street).

The accommodation was clean and comfortable with a huge bed (two singles joined as one?).

Breakfast was good and freshly prepared.

The hosts were very friendly and helpful planning where to visit.

We took the boat trip from Ross Castle across three lakes and joing riversto Lord Brandons Cottage at the top of the Gap of Dunloe, walked the 7 miles of the Gap to Kate Kearney's cottage where the bus waited to pick us up for our return to Ross castle lodge (included). The 7 mile walk takes a while, and you don't have a huge amout of time after a bite at the cottage, so if you are not sure or unfit take the jaunting cabs (horse carriage - extra cost) back instead of walking. This was a good day out that you can book at the Ross Castle Lodge (about 25/30 euro each).

We enjoyed our stay - and would go back there if returning.
The only reason not to choose here would be if the walk to Killarney would be a problem for you.

I chose this B&B because of the very favourable reviews on Trip Advisor, wanting a surprise destination for my wife's 60th birthday. We were not disappointed. The room was large, clean and well furnished, including a huge bed - we lost each other...
Breakfast was served in a lovely room, with plenty of choice and excellent fare. However, the best bit of the B&B was the host. Rosaleen couldn't do enough to help, giving excellent advice on where to go, and even booking our day trip (boat, walk, vintage bus) which included being picked up and dropped off at the gate.

The Ross Castle Lodge b&b is a really wonderful place to stay: I spent 4 nights there in August 2007. We have never stayed in a b&b before and it was an unforgettable experience. The rooms and the bathrooms are large, comfortable, clean, quiet; sheets and towels are changed every day; the breakfast is fantastic (and the breakfast room too, with a large window on the beautiful garden); the service is perfect. The b&b's owners are very kind and they are happy to help you and to suggest you where to go, or to eat, and to show you Killarney's sightseens.
Killarney itself is a very beautiful place to see: charming, green, peaceful, relaxing, good food and shopping, nice people!

We enjoyed our two night stay. A nice large, clean room with a huge comfortable bed.

A great quite location on the outskirts of Killarney. We would stay there again!

My husband and I really enjoyed our stay at the Ross Castle B & B. Rosaleen was a very gracious and welcoming host. This bed and breakfast was located about a mile outside of town. It is very close to both Ross castle and Killarney National Park. We didn't mind the walk into town at all but it should be considered when deciding to stay here. During the day you can talk a walking path through the park right to town which was really nice. The rooms at the B&B where very nice and clean. There was in room coffee and tea, hair dryer, tv etc. Breakfast was also very good. Rosaleen is very knowledgeable about the area and arranged tours each day for my husband and I. This was a very helpful service since she knows much about the reputations of the tour operators in the area. Also, the tours that she arranged for us picked us right up at the B and B. This made for a very relaxing vacation. We can't wait for our next stay.
