My son and I were on a ten day vacation in Ireland. My son is Ireland for college so I went for a visit. Kilburn House B&B was our first stop. We stayed two nights so we could visit the Dingle Pen. and the Ring of Kerry. It's right in between the two and close to both. The house is beautiful and our room was perfect. We were greeted with tea, coffee, brown bread, cookies and more upon our arrival. The owners are both wonderful people and couldn't help us enough with directions to the areas we wanted to visit. They are both just really nice people. Our breakfast was excellent both mornings with a nice food selection. My son had the Irish breakfast and I had an omelet with fresh cheese's. We stayed at a total of 6 B&Bs while in Ireland which were all very nice but not as exceptional as the Kilburn House. When I go back for a visit I will definitely stay there again. Two nights just weren't enough. This B&B is a perfect example of what Farm House Bed and Breakfast's are all about.

Great location to ring of kerry and dingle peninsula. The hosts were very hospitable. Great breakfast!! we didn't even need to eat lunch the days we were there. We brought our baby along for the trip. The B+B had a high chair and crib for her. Large, beautiful house in the middle of pastures. very lovely and peaceful.

“Castle in the countryside”

A wonderful restored manor house in the middle of a gorgeous Irish countryside. We were warmly welcomed by Podge & Gret who treated us to an unforgettable dinner and the best breakfast the next morning in their sunny conservatory.
The rooms were huge with plenty of character and original details. The whole house was full of charm. Many thanks for the nice stay.

“Perfect stay”

Kilburn House Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast

13 Apr 2007

One of the best B&Bs I've ever been!

It was so great at Gret and Podge and their sweet family.
We enjoyed the wonderful hospitality from the first second and felt very welcome.

The room was very nice arranged, very comfortable and we even had a tub in our bathroom.

The breakfast was wonderful and very delicious.

Gret helped us very much to plan our trip to the Dingle Peninsula.
We enjoyed the stay and didn't want to leave, but we had to.

I can highly recommend the Kilburn House!!
If i will come back again to the south west of Ireland I will stay nowhere else but there :)

“Sweet Family Getaway!”

Kilburn House Farmhouse Bed and Breakfast

The owners of this B&B, Podge and Gret, made our family feel truly at home. Greeting us at the door upon our arrival, showing us to our room and then offering us some treats, made us all relax immediately after a few hours spent in the car.

If you want a 'getaway' location, this is it! It does not take long to get into Killarney where you'll be provided with at least 2 days worth of activities. Fun family things to do while in Killarney would be a bike rental and a ride in and around the National Park, a tour of Ross Castle, a visit to Muckross House, and a sweet jaunting cart ride. Any recommendations you need for things to see and do can come directly from your host and hostess at Kilburn.

Also convenient to this B&B are the Ring of Kerry and the Gap of Dunloe. Whether you want to visit the Dingle Pennisula before of after your stay at this B&B, it's a convenient location for that tour. We came from Dingle to Killarney and there are sights to see along the way to break up the car ride...especially helpful with our teens traveling on this trip.

While at the Kilburn House, be sure to have some down time to just relax and visit with Podge and Gret. The breakfast is yummy and they aim to please. They will make your breakfast, full Irish (or another version of it), for your personal taste. They also offered a dinner if you wanted to skip eating in town one night.

This is such a great B&B, we'd recommend you not skimp on your time spent. Make it at least two nights with this sweet family if you possibly can.
