Wow! What a great place to stay and visit Killarney. We were greeted immediately with a big smile by the hostess' husband, since she was away from the property, shown to our rooms and made comfortable while we waited her return. The room was spacious and immaculately clean with the bathroom (as advertised) en suite. It was large and easily accessible and also quite clean. The property is a great country home overlooking the woods. When we arrived the "jaunting ponies" used at the nearby Muckross House for excursions were grazing in the front pasture. Breakfast both mornings was great - well prepared to our taste and desire with plenty of coffee and tea in a wonderful dining area overlooking the property. Our stay was pleasant and we enjoyed getting to know our hostess, Maureen, in the moments around the table and the home. Anyone not liking this place must be looking for a 5-star American resort setting! We will definitely return to this B & B if we go back to Ireland.

We have just returned from a trip to ireland and had two nights in The Stables in Muckross, Killarney. This was a delightful place in beautiful surroundings. The room was excellent and very clean. We had a good breakfast. We stayed in several other Farm Houses whilst staying in Ireland and this was one of the best.

“Great Place!”

Muckross Riding Stables B&B

My husband and I stayed at Muckross Riding Stables B&B during the month of Oct, 2006. We had a wonderful time there. It was the perfect place to stay for rest and relaxation after a day of sightseeing and evenings of 'pubbing'. Maureen served a wonderful breakfast each morning and was more than accommodating if you had overslept just a bit. We would definitely consider staying there again when we're in the Killarney area.

I honestly can't believe the previous review of this B&B- I really can't say enough about this place. We received a warm welcome as we arrived late at night and were shown to a spacious and modern room. We got a great suprise when we pulled back the curtains as the view in front of the house really is beautiful. Granted- you may wake up to a bit of hussle and bustle but that goes hand in hand with a farmhouse B&B and riding stables- after all it is supposed to be an authentic experience most people are looking for.

We ate breakfast in a nice open breakfast room which looks onto the front view of the house and had no complaints. We'll definately be staying here again, and would definately recommend it to others.

I chose this B and B primarily for its location and the fact that it
had horses, which I was hoping to find time to ride. I researched it on
trip advisor and could find no information it, which bothered me, but
it seemed like it was a pretty cool place. From now on, if it hasn't
been reviewed on TA, I will not be going!

To begin with, the setting is fabulous. Beautiful land with sheep and
horses grazing lazily as you wind down into the dirveway. But that is
where the positive ends. We were greeted with no smile, no welcome,
and were shown to our rooms and handed keys. Breakfast, we were told,
was served form 8:30 to 9:30, so if we wanted it, we needed to get there
before then. My room, which was arranged to be a single room with
private bath, was slightly smaller than an average dorm room. There was
nothing warm or inviting about it. And my private bath? It was actually
quite UN-private, as I found out when I saw one of the family entering
and using it the next morning. As for the bath itself, there wasn't
one. I was told I could either go downstairs to yet another family
bathroom or I could ask my parents for the use of theirs (which I did).

My parents' room was equally as bad. Their toilet was surrounded by a
wooden box, making it look dilapidated, and the floors felt as thought
they were giving way with every step. The shower alternated between
freezing and scalding, with no water pressure.

Sleep for the night was hard to come by, as the walls are very thin. At one point I even heard my dad's Blackberry go off in the middle of the night as if it were right beside me. In the morning, there were the usual noises of everyone getting up at the same time, but compounded by the noises that go with getting horses prepared for the day.

Breakfast was uninviting, and I felt like a relative that had
over-stayed my welcome, allthough I had only been there for one night. We were
offered tea, but never got it, we were offered juice, but it was
communal and was gone within a few minutes and never replenished. But the
worst of it was finding not one, not two, but three hairs in my eggs.

We left there happy to be doing so, but fearful that the rest of the B
and B's we stayed at would be equally as bad. Lucky for us, they
weren't
