We stayed here for two nights in a family room which fittted 5 of us (children ages: 10, 8 and 5) very well! The room was very clean and comfortable. The food in both the restaurant and bar was excellent for both the adults and children. The staff we met were absolutely lovely and helpful.
The pool area is great as the jacuzzi is right beside the kiddies part of the pool.
The hotel is a 10 minute walk from the centre of Kilkenny which was a very manageable distance for the kids.
All in all we had a very enjoyable stay and will definitely go back.

Had read the reviews here and had also stayed at this hotel previously for a function so knew what to expect. First strange thing was I rang the hotel to book a one-night stay over the weekend to be told that they only had two-night stays available. I then went onto their website and booked one night without any problems.
The reception area, bar and restaurant are all nice, clean and modern. The pool area is fine too although the fact that it is open to the public means that over a weekend it was pretty busy with families.
The bedrooms are fine, pretty standard, crappy iron and hair-dryer so if you need these I'd bring your own.
The only problem was the noise at night. I know the hotel can't be held responsible for people shouting while walking the corridors but the insulation must be very poor because they sound so loud in the rooms. I woke about 4-5 times during the night with people banging doors, shouting to each other and one person looking for a room to have a party in as they had a bottle of champagne!!
If you are a heavy sleeper maybe this won't affect you and in this case you'll probably have a lovely time at the hotel.

May have spent a lot of money on Public areas,and some on rooms incl Flat screen Tvs,but the woodwork,wardrobes,and dressing tables, need replacing to give the Hotel the complete standard it is trying to achieve, i also think the bathrooms still look drab although the wash bowls have been replaced.
The Internet access in the rooms is a nonsense ,via a cable thats hardly long enough to reach,as someone had already found out in my room and ripped the connection out the wall.
Nice dinner,Nice breakfast if you arrive after 6 pm parkings a problem,as the members of the Health Club have arrived.
Do have free wifi in reception,decent choice of TV Channels incl Eurosport & Setanta Ireland.
I have have stayed in better Hotels for the Money,and wont be back .

I booked the hotel at the last miinute having been called to Kilkenny for work. The lobby and reception area is neat and tidy and the receptionist was quick to check me in.
I was quite disappointed in the room - it was a strange mix of modernity and old-fashionedness. The bed was fine as was the wall-mounted LCD television. However, the rest of the furniture looked like it had been bought following the death of a local spinster, very old-fashioned indeed.
I arrived very late so ordered roo service (cold sandwiches only) which was good for what it was.
The var area was nice and modern and breakfast was excellent. However, the hotel was noisy all during the night.
The following morning on check-out I asked for directions to a particular road, the receptionist (who was Irish) had no idea where the road was, nor did she try to find out or look on a map, she simply said "I've never heard of it - maybe someone in the town will know." Incredible really.
