Please learn from our mistake and get any reservation booked over the phone in writing (in particular the rate), no matter how trustworthy and friendly they seem.

We booked and were quoted (verbally) an amount that seemed fairly pricey but the location suited and the place looked nice on web.

When it came to pay the bill the price had been increased considerably.
We were so gobsmacked and very dissapointed and it ruined our experience.

When disputing the difference they were not interested and the lady responsible for giving us this quote had conveniently just gone on maternity leave and the manager was dealing with 'other issues'.

They had credit card so we were snookered.

Tried to sort out since but they pass us from one manager to the next who always promise to phone us - but never do.

I'd have been dissapointed with the rate we were original quoted for the experience - never mind their new rate that they cheated from us.

Be careful or better still, look elsewhere.

Hotel is nice, Basic, Staff lack a personality, except the breakfast staff, who can be that lively early in the morning. Had a evening meat and breakfast there. Both excellent.

Rooms like an oven. really uncomfortable. I could not stay there again Like sleeping in a sauna

My husband & I recently spent a weekend in Hotel Kilkenny, we found the staff to be most welcoming & extremely helpful. We dined in the restaurant and found the service & food of a high standard. The main hotel areas have been modernised and look great but I would feel that the room we stayed in although clean was a little bit tired looking especially the bathroom. I also didn't like the dark corridors. But this didn't take away from our stay. The hotel states that they supply free internet access this is in fact through a cable which was too short, my husband had to use his laptop lying on the ground of the bedroom & he then discoverd that the point to put the cable in was broken... but in saying this our experience was most positive of Hotel Kilkenny. The older bar man in particular made us feel most welcome and in fact all of the staff couldn't do enough for us. I would be delighed to return to the hotel and would have no hesitation in recommending it to anyone. Enjoy !

we had our wedding reception there. Overall we were a bit disappointed, when we were shown around we were promised certain things and met with Oliver (French/Belgian) unfortunately the room on our wedding nite was very basic >>>>>>> you wouldnt think it was a bridal suite, found out the next day that all rooms look the same. What irrated me the most when we were checking in the girl on reception asked me my name (hello i'm wearing a wedding dress>>>> i must be the bride) Most hotels offered married couples A COMPLIMENTARY MEAL on their 1st anniversary. we are married 17 months and heard nothing from them at all. Sorry for the BAD review I could write more, but it still upsets how my husband and I were treated on "what was supposed to be "OUR SPECIAL DAY"
