Pat and Terry Holden made me feel like a guest of the nation. They are charming, knowledgeable and warm hosts who give of themselves and their home generously.

The house is spotless. Each room has a big quilt bed, clean private bath and hot shower: there is a television in each room as well. The breakfasts were beautifully prepared and served in a lovely dining room where guests mingle to share their day's adventures.

Perhaps the best part of my stay at the Holden's Springhill B&B was chatting with Pat and Terry in their sitting room. I learned the history of Kilkenny/Waterford, Kells and Jerpoint Abbey, I played golf at Mount Juliet, Waterford Castle and Faith Leg, (all in easy driving distance), and all well recommended by Pat Holden in conversation at breakfast.

This is the place to treat yourself to in Kilkenny.
