We just can't say enough great about this B & B. The proprietor Helen is charming, informative, most gracious and truly kind. She is a real gem and emerald in Ireland's crown. She knows what the traveler wants and provides it generously. The morning breakfast is supurb and exceeds expectations. Best of all, the location of this B & B is perfect. It is just 1-2 KM from the heart of Kilkenny's lovely downtown, yet on a very quiet cul de sac (a short deadend road really) so there is no traffic noise at all. The rooms are spacious and extremely neat and tidy. If there is anything you need to know about the area she has it on hand...or will quickly find out how to get it. The prices we paid were right in line with the other 5 B & B's we stayed at on our trip; but we got much more value for the Euro paid. We decided to go to Ireland for our vacation and wanted to stay only at B&B's. We had never stayed at B&B's before and didn't know what to expect. Our overnight flight was long and we didn't sleep like we expected. We got lost on the way to Kilkenny (probably from lack of sleep and learning to drive in Dublin) After traveling for 26 hrs without sleeping, needless to say we were exhausted. When we got to Kilkenny's tourist center we found out that the place we had originally made reservations for had us down for the wrong day and didn't have a room available for us. She referred us to Dunboy . When we finally arrived at Dunboy (we got lost again!) We were greeted by the Helen who was waiting for us at the door. She immediately gave us both a hug and told us to go to the room and relax for a little while and she would make us a pot of tea and help us find a nice place for dinner. Even though we only stayed at Dunboy 1 night, it was the perfect way to start our trip. All the stress from the previous day seemed miles away the next morning. They made sure to sit us down and highlight our driving route for the rest of our trip, and called our next B&B to make sure we didn't go through this again.

The room was perfect, very cozy, cute, and comfortable. We had a private, in room bath that was simple and clean. The B&B was in a nice quiet area, but still within walking distance to the downtown area and all their sites. The breakfast was wonderful with farm fresh eggs, Irish bacon and French press coffee; we couldn't have asked to start a trip in a better way.

We really appreciate everything that Helen and Tony did for us. On our next trip to Ireland we are definitely going to stay there again. We HIGHLY recommend that anyone going to Kilkenny or the Rock of Cashel area should stay at Dunboy. You will have a great time!

We have just returned from a few days at Dunboy.
Although we had heard about the friendliness of the Irish people, Helen and Tony our Hosts at Dunboy took this to a new level!
The rooms were spotless and breakfast wonderful, especially the scones. Parking is easy and location is literally 2 minutes by car from the centre.
Helen took very good care of us and was very helpful with her suggestions regarding how to spend our time in Kilkenny.
We would definitely stay again at Dunboy.

My wife and I had a great stay at Dunboy. Helen and Tony are great hosts with plenty of information about the area and restaurants.

The location is a little drive from the city center, but it was easy to find and had parking available.

Our room was very nice and cozy.

Breakfast was wonderful.

We would recommend staying at Dunboy when visiting Kilkenny.
