I stayed here for 1 night before flying out frim shannon. I booked on the internet and got a great price , 44euro for 2 people, how could you argue with that. The hotel was very basic , clean but very outdated. We had food next door in the bar and I must say I was very disappointed having read some great reviews from other diners. It just didn't taste great and the place seemed dark, dingy and dirty. All in all, an ok stay, perfect for an early flight at a great price but thats it really, you get what you pay for.

Thank you for your response. It is a shame that you didn't enjoy your evening in Thady O'Neill's, as we usually receive very positive comments concerning the bar and restaurant. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the location and we like to feel that we offer all guests value for money. Many thanks, once more, for your comments, which ultimately help to improve our service operations.

“Excellent Hotel, Good Value for money”

After searching the web for a quick weekend break away from Dublin last week, I came across DG Hotels website. Not being pushed where we went as long as it was as far away from Dublin that I couldn't go back quickly, I was amazed to see the prices they were offering for a room rate. I thought there was some mistake as the website screamed at me €19 per room per night!!!!! Now it is a limited offer and not all nights are available, but I managed to get the Friday and Saturday night in Limerick. On arrival, I was somewhat surprised to be greeted by a fairly big modern hotel, which was nothing like I had pictured. The room was exactly what I had expected- Bed, television and ensuite but it was in excellent condition. There was a small pub beside it with a restaurant and we ate and drank there both days. Excellent value and very tasty. (By the way I don't work for them!) We had a slight problem with the hot water in the morning but we were immediately given the use of a different room to shower in, and were moved to a different room that day. When I told people about it, they wouldn't believe me!! But it is true, and I have already decided to try another DG hotel as soon as I can while the offer is still running!
Granted, the offer is limited at the weekends and I don't know what the normal rate is but if it's quiet and peace you want for a few days then give it a go.
I don't know how the public transport is to get to the hotel, but I was driving so it was only 10 minutes from Limerick city centre.
Well done to all concerned and thank you for a wonderful, relaxing break away from the big city!!

On our arrival we were" greeted" by two sullen receptionists one who was more concerned with a private call she was taking. Our room was basic, but clean. We discovered that we did not have towels to meet the needs of our party,I went to reception and requested more towels ,four hours later I repeated this request to no avail.I eventually met a Porter in the corridor outside my room who managed to find some bath mats.
Breakfast was fine apart from having to wait fifteen minutes outside the Dining Room before allowed entry.
All in all not what i expected ,I will never darken their door again!

Just back from a holiday touring ireland and i had mixed feelings about this hotel after reading the reviews, but they were unfounded.Room was perfect as were the staff..I ate in the pub next door which is obviously owned by the hotel as it had the same menu and was first class. Only comments i have if you are driving to the hotel and approaching from the west , ignore the sign to turn at the next right as you cross a dual carriageway.Instead carry on to the roundabout and head back.

DO NOT STAY HERE! My husband & I stayed at the two mile inn in May while traveling in Ireland. We stayed in 5 different cities and hotels and this was the absolute worst!!!! I had seen previous reviews and they were 50/50 so we decided to give it a shot since it is so close to the airport and this was our last night in Ireland. The only good thing was that we were only here one night! that is about the best thing I can say. When we first arrived
I was surprised that the lobby wasnt as bad as I thought, then we received our key and were taken to our room-- which seemed ok at first, but within minutes the smell of smoke disgusted us--- I had requested NON SMOKING. I called the front desk and told them they needed to move us and the girl asked us if we had stayed in the room for a few minutes, that maybe it wouldnt be that bad---maybe she meant once my husband could no longer breathe and pass out from the stench! non the less, they moved us to the LAST ROOM in the hotel-- the only one that was apparently available, and it was also two single beds-- great for a couple, right??? GROSS!! gross is all I can say, I found mouse droppings near the bed and in the dresser drawers! GROSS! GROSS!GROSS!!! At this point there was nothing we could do since it was the last room and our last nigt. I kept my belongings tightly closed, we went out for the evening, returned late and had the worst night sleep because of my earlier "findings". Luckily we had to get up super early and head to the airport. Only good thing I can say is that the breakfast was actually pretty good once you got past the crowds of people who seemed to attack the waitress when she arrived with the food-- very mismanaged! Bottom line-- DONT STAY HERE! GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!

Thank you for your response. I am extremely sorry to hear about your clearly unpleasant experience here. I can assure you, however, that our rooms are cleaned to the highest standard and that there are certainly no mouse droppings within the rooms. I can only apologize for the error in the room allocation. I am pleased to hear that you enjoyed the breakfast and will pass on the compliment to the breakfast restaurant. Your comments ultimately help to improve our service offered here in the hotel.
