My wife, her parents and I have just returned from a long weekend stay at the Jury's Inn hotel in Limerick. And I must say once again we were very impressed with the hotel.
This was our second stay at the hotel within the last four months. Once again we were there to visit my father in law's family.
We experienced some minor noise during our previous stay at this hotel and that, coupled with some less than favourable reviews caused us to contact the hotel with our concerns. We were assured by the hotel manager that we would be put in a quiet room at the back of the hotel and true to his word we did not experience any noise whatsoever on this visit.
We had also informed him that we would be arriving in the early hours of the morning. Upon arrival we were checked in in less than a minute, and after dropping off our bags headed for the bar down stairs for a well earned drink. This was the beginning of a weekend of excellent service by all of the staff at the hotel. The barman showed my mother in law how to pour a perfect pint of guinness which made her day (only which I'd had the camera on me).
Our room was large and clean with a very comfortable bed, and a bathroom with a bath, powerful shower, and soap and shower gel.We also received a large bowl of fruit and bottles of water from the manager which was very gratefully received.
Unfortunately due to late nights with the family we never managed to make breakfast on this visit which was a pity as this was one of the highlights of our last visit as the large breakfast was enough to last us all day.
The food in the very popular bar was extremely good with large portions. The prices were very reasonable for a city centre hotel.
The location of the hotel is ideal, especially if you are driving. The car park right behind the hotel is really handy and very cheap, (the barrier was down all weekend and I didn't pay a penny). It is a two minute walk to the very centre of Limerick
With regard to a previous reviewer we met loads of locals and found them to be extremely friendly and helpful.
In general this hotel was a typical city centre hotel. What makes it special are the very hard working, friendly and helpful staff.
I am sure we will be visiting Limerick again and if we do we will definitely stay at this hotel.
