My wife, her parents and I have just returned from a long weekend stay at the Jury's Inn hotel in Limerick. And I must say once again we were very impressed with the hotel.

This was our second stay at the hotel within the last four months. Once again we were there to visit my father in law's family.

We experienced some minor noise during our previous stay at this hotel and that, coupled with some less than favourable reviews caused us to contact the hotel with our concerns. We were assured by the hotel manager that we would be put in a quiet room at the back of the hotel and true to his word we did not experience any noise whatsoever on this visit.

We had also informed him that we would be arriving in the early hours of the morning. Upon arrival we were checked in in less than a minute, and after dropping off our bags headed for the bar down stairs for a well earned drink. This was the beginning of a weekend of excellent service by all of the staff at the hotel. The barman showed my mother in law how to pour a perfect pint of guinness which made her day (only which I'd had the camera on me).

Our room was large and clean with a very comfortable bed, and a bathroom with a bath, powerful shower, and soap and shower gel.We also received a large bowl of fruit and bottles of water from the manager which was very gratefully received.

Unfortunately due to late nights with the family we never managed to make breakfast on this visit which was a pity as this was one of the highlights of our last visit as the large breakfast was enough to last us all day.

The food in the very popular bar was extremely good with large portions. The prices were very reasonable for a city centre hotel.

The location of the hotel is ideal, especially if you are driving. The car park right behind the hotel is really handy and very cheap, (the barrier was down all weekend and I didn't pay a penny). It is a two minute walk to the very centre of Limerick

With regard to a previous reviewer we met loads of locals and found them to be extremely friendly and helpful.

In general this hotel was a typical city centre hotel. What makes it special are the very hard working, friendly and helpful staff.
I am sure we will be visiting Limerick again and if we do we will definitely stay at this hotel.

“Not recommended for a peaceful stay.”

I stayed at this hotel for three nights from the 16th Nov' 2007. The building is typically corporate and standard. The staff were friendly and helpful, which was good since I needed their help after the first night!

The rooms are not sound proofed sufficiently and when you are kept awake by a group of noisy people intent on disruption, it is good that
the staff react reasonably quickly. My room was changed and I ended on
the third floor. The window near the bed would not close and it was generally impossible to relax let alone sleep. I can only assume that you need to stipulate the rear of the building to enjoy any sense of peace.

I would not use the Hotel again and despite the happy occasion that I was in Limerick for, it has soured the whole Ireland experience for me.

Dear Trip Advisor,

Thank you for your review. I am sorry to read that you did not enjoy your stay.
We have a system in place whereby if we have groups staying with us we try to keep them all on the same corridor, on the same floor. It appears in this instance we failed. Thank you for the nice words regarding the staff, I will pass them on.

If you do have a need to stay in Limerick again please feel free to contact me directly via email at patrick_reddan@jurysinns.com and I will handle your reservation personally to ensure that you get a good nights sleep.

Kind Regards,

Patrick

Although this hotel is very centrally located, I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. If you are looking for a clean room to lay your head with no other concerns, this is the hotel for you. During the first night of my stay, there was a drunk woman running up and down the hall screaming profanities and pounding on one of the doors at 6 in the morning. Then the traffic noise kept me from getting back to sleep. The second day of my stay, I couldn't ignore the large posted signs in the room about using the downstairs safe for any of my valuables so I took ALL my belongings with me for the day. (I had a car.) I spent the entire day outside of Limerick and didn't return until 10:30 that evening. I was up and out early the next morning. (no fault of the hotel, but Limerick is not a nice place to stay. I encountered too many unemployed, drunk people.)
