My wife and I booked this hotel on the internet for two nights for last weekend. We checked in on Saturday evening and entered the room only to find that it was half cleaned!:
-Dust on the timber floor and the carpet
-Crumbs on the swivel chair.
-Dried in food on the hotel directory,
-Sink counter-top was also dirty.
-Dirt behind the bathroom door.
We went down to the bar and ordered some food. The waitress has having a bad night and on three visits to the table dropped my table knife, spilled a glass of water on our table and broke a wine glass she was removing.
Following this we went to reception and reported the problem with the room. A member of staff went to to see the room taking photos with his 'phone. He was helpful, apologised and undertook to give us some feedback the following morning.
The following morning after breakfast, a dis-interested receptionist, when asked about the complaint, said that €50.00 had been knocked off the cost of the room.
This room cost €180.00 per night. ( Business class, check website) We left the hotel, returning slightly later to check out. The room was still not 100% (or even 80%) after having been serviced. We felt that another night in the hotel was not worth the cost being incurred by us.
In general, the hotel is not clean. Our room was not clean. The lift floors are dusty, the threshold of the front door of hotel was not clean. The bar carpet. is covered in black marks.
Other problems:
Room very hot -( fan supplied on check-out day to be fair).
No key to minibar. -( supplied on check-out day)
bathroom poorly finished ( timber bath panel rotting)
Business Class extras not evident ( bathrobe slippers aside) - certainly not worth the €50.00 extra.
I stayed in Pery's Best Western in Limerick city centre in August 2007 and found it to be immaculately clean for a fraction of the price. (€100/room).
There is clearly a distinct lack of quality control in the housekeeping in this hotel.
The Radisson is supposed to be a four star. It is not.
