“Dissapointed !!!!!!!!!!”

Radisson SAS Hotel & Spa Limerick

3 Jul 2008

Have just returned from a stay at The RadissonLimerick..........
Radisson by Name but Not Radisson by Nature .........
Being a frequent oversea's business traveller I have built up a preference for staying in Radisson hotels throughout Europe and so decided to stay in a home based radisson on my business trip to limerick. What a decision .......... Probably just got unlucky on the night in question but lightning was striking all over the place !!!!!! Noisy and uncomfortable Bedroom can be lived with. Rude and unprofessional staff in the restaurant is tough to take . But Mangement that dont seem bothered when a guest reports same is unacceptable. Met the "OPERATIONS MANAGER " to relay my thoughts and views . Whilst he managed to make time to meet me , he didnt seem much interested and surely wasnt trying to rectify my disastrous stay at the hotel.
I will be returning to Limerick reqularly over the next few months and am a little appreehensive about using this hotel again. Please sort out Noisy Bedrooms (im sure others have complained?) and for heavens sake invest in some customer care training in your restaurant and at Senior management level after all this is 2008 and customers do have alternative choices.

“Very good hotel”

Radisson SAS Hotel & Spa Limerick

My wife, I and two kids under 2 stayed here on Fri 20th June. We requested a family room and were given a large business class room which was very comfortable, modern looking and extremely clean. The reception area and bars all look really well which was important given that we were there as guests to a wedding. We paid €145 for the room which i thought represented good value for money. Typically Radisson in style, corporate and modern in image and nothing unexpected with regard to decor.

The meal for 180 people was lovely with the fillet of beef in particular cooked to perfection. Check-in at reception ran smoothly and genuinely no problems whilst there. A great choice for breakfast awaited uson Saturday morning with everything you could want. I would strongly recommend this hotel as a wedding/funtion hotel. Probably not ideal for a weekend break as it is out of town (car essential) unless you just wish to hang around the hotel and use pool facilities (which i didn't use so won't comment on).

The following however would improve the hotel: some Irish staff at least - not one did i encounter. Not one! (i just can't accept that NO irsh people want to work here). Some of the foreign staff had very poor English which i feel should be taken for granted in such a hotel. Secondly the mini-bar was locked. I feel that if they are going to lock the mini-bar they should ask you when checking in if you require it at least. Finding out it is locked at 1am is just annoying!

All in all if you want a predicably well -run clean hotel with excellent food and can tolerate exclusively foreign staff with limited english you will be very happy here. I would definitely stay here again.

My husband and I booked a 2 day break at this hotel for the June bank holiday weekend. We booked using the Super Valu( Ireland)getaway break offer, which entitles you to 2 nights weekend including breakfast and dinner for two on one evening, for €109 per person. We loved this hotel. The room was lovely, with comfortable bed and the hotel went out of their way to accomodate our request for a quiet room. Breakfast was buffet style and served everything from cereals, croissants and toast to Irish breakfasts and omelettes - all self service and all very nice. We found the two evening meals and the service in the hotel restaurant very good quality and really enjoyed the live piano music in the restaurant on Friday and Saturday nights. The spa was very nice also, equipped with pool, jacuzzi and thermal suite, but it can get busy so do book a treatment in advance of travelling if you can. One thing though, although there were many couples staying at the hotel and young families and even business men on their own,
the hotel seems popular for weddings and as "a girlie week end away location"- (they even have a special ladies level of accomodation). There did at times seem to be groups of women coming into the spa together (at least on the Saturday we were there), which may be a little off putting for a male on his own in the spa!!!.That said, they do have male and female only saunas and there are quiet times in the spa, so check those out.We had a very relaxing time, which is what we wanted - a getaway from it all break. The hotel is a little outside the city, so you would need a car or else need a taxi to get you in and out ( approx €12), but it is a little oasis. A final word for the staff at reception and in the restaurant, who were very friendly and actually smile at you!!!! This is a good thing. Room was also well cleaned each day. We definetely recommend this hotel and would like to return again.

I was staying 3 night on business - The one thing that made the hotel better for me was the fact that there was no traffic noise and no lift noise (huge problem in town hotels for me) - great business class room, Staff are super, friendly, smiling, efficient,
Place is always clean, Staff friendly in corridors, Liked the restaurant room - Music, relaxed atmosphere,Real coffee and real tea in the rooms, Luxury products in the bathroom – great rather than those useless small bottles, Spa area very professional, Desk in room was also great adn all other necessities with out asking Shoe horn, cork screw – great. I understand there are enhancements ahead so looking forward to returning.
