This was our last stay on our 8 day vacation, and 7th hotel stay. I feel that it is unfortunate to say this was one of the better hotels we stayed at.
Best - value, room size, general atmosphere.
Worst - rude desk attendant, hair and lord only knows what splattered on bed linens, restaurant.
It appeared to be an over-all clean hotel. There were plenty of furnishings in the room and it was decorated nicely. Everything worked properly. Cheapest rate we paid all week.
However, two phone calls to the hotel for directions while lost in the city were handled abruptly and inaccurately. Luckily we somehow found ourselves right in front of the hotel, which is in a rundown area. Although the room and bathroom appeared clean there were quite a few long hairs on BOTH the duvets as well as some dried matter on the blanket. EEWWW. One of the front desk women came to the room in a reasonable amount of time with clean linens and changed the bedding herself. She was pleasant and apologetic. We were one of three tables in the restaurant but service was slow and unfriendly. Regular menu item, baked french onion soup, was not available but was offered tomato soup instead. Very upset that we were charged the same price as the baked french onion. Not a fair trade off in my opinion. But as this kind of treatment seemed to be the norm throughout most of our stay in Ireland we just sucked it up and attributed it to the uniqueness of Ireland.
I don't know if I'd stay here again given the location but I wouldn't not recommend it either. If you're looking for value and just passing through this would be a good stop.
