Disclaimer: We didn't pay, we won an overnight in this hotel in a Lyric FM competition, courtesy of the Irish Chamber Orchestra. The ICO sure got the right sponsors if they want to convey quality (as well as their own excellent concert I hasten to add).

We met Sarah the extra-helpful receptionist who brought us to our king room. We've never seen so many pillows. Widescreen TV, free WiFi, comfy seats, usual tea making, sparkling new bathroom, all the luxury touches.
I have to add one funny comment where they were a bit over-anxious to be luxury and put a letter on the desk offering an indulgent treat to spoil ourselves ... it turned out to be a cup of tea with a couple of coin-sized biscuits! That isn't a complaint, just a smile at them getting lost in their hype.

They called a taxi for us to get us back from the concert venue.

My wife did find it a little difficult to get to sleep because of some noise but we couldn't be bothered to get out of the comfy bed to find out whether it was traffic or airconditioning.

Breakfast was excellent - good fruit choices, porridge, full Irish breakfast tasted freshly made unlike many mass-catering hotels.

Really nice.

From the moment my group checked in we felt like VIP's here.

This hotel has the best service I've ever experienced from a hotel, and the best beds!

Sarah the front desk clerk was eager to do anything to make our check-in the best ever. After spending the prior two nights at the awful Kilmainham Hilton in Dublin, we desperately needed good service, and boy we got it.

Not too long after we arrived the staff brought up a complimentary wine and cheese tray as we relaxed in our modernly designed, immaculately clean room.

Later, when I layed in bed I sank into it like a cloud with abundant fluffy pillows all around me. I don't think I moved the entire night, and slept more soundly than I can remember.

In the morning, breakfast was wonderful, and check-out was a breeze.

I would not hesitate to return here and tell all my friends; if you choose this hotel you will not be disappointed in any way.

We arrived early Wednesday morning (7/18) after a night flight (9am), and were able to immediately check into our room. For EU standards, it was a very large room. 2 double beds and a gorgeous new bathroom. Construction is going on next door, but only between business hours (9 - 5), so it wasn't bad.

The staff was amazing. They were so friendly and helpful.

I have just returned from a one night stay in the very new Marriott in Limerick. Having stayed in a few hotels in Limerick recently, definately the nicest decor I experienced in the area. We had a deluxe room facing the front (an uninspiring view of Dunnes Stores carpark), but I appreciate that that is something you cannot change.
I wanted to like this hotel more, but I just felt that the staff were there just too much, they were everywhere. It's nice to be able to have a look around the hotels facilities without almost being shadowed by a member of staff.
When I arrive in a hotel, like a lot of people, I like to park my own car, checkin and make my way up to my room myself. Maybe the hotel is going for American style service but I think for a lot of people it is very off-putting. The receptionist would absolutely not give me my room key until the concierge brought my bag up. Every time we needed the car we felt harrassed into giving tips left right and centre. Plus the first time we left the car to get parked, it ended up sitting at the front of the hotel for about 3 hours.
We ate in the restaurant, the meal was ok, some of the staff didn't have great english when trying to order, plus they got one of our starters wrong but to be honest it was just easier to take it rather than send it back as we were quite hungry.
Note to restaurant: you have a leaky roof at the back little alcove with the glass roof (which is cracked also) when its raining.
Went to the Savoy bar then for drinks, we were approached at the door by a member of staff before we sat down for a drinks order, let people get in the door first!!!!!!!!!!
Breakfast was quite good, lots of food and a nice selection. Checking out was almost right, what with charges being added. Overall I felt the Marriott here is trying for a standard that is too high for it, I stay in a lot of expensive hotels around the world, but it really is the overbearing presence of the staff that underminded our experience.
