I love this hotel. I first brought my partner here on valentines night and even though it is in the city where we live it was really romantic. Since then we have returned twice because it is so comfortable(and because we love staying in hotels!!). We have also stayed in the absolute hotel in Limerick (i meant it when i said that we LOVE hotels!!) and the Hilton is far superior for the same price(plus you can make a cup of coffee without being an engineer(if you've stayed at the absolute you'll know what i mean...crazy crazy coffee machines)

The decor is really funky and fresh and the bathroom is quite luxurious. We ordered room service and the food was beautiful, the plates weren't laden down but were adequate and tasty, i've always found the staff to be quite curteous and pleasant as well.

I can't make any comment on the restaraunt or the gym because to be honest we never made it that far, but the room was extremely relaxing and in really close proximity to the city and the views are beautiful(if you get a riverside view). All in all this would be my favourite hotel in Limerick

“Great Hotel, Great Location”

Hilton Limerick

29 Mar 2008

The Limerick Hilton is about a 4 minute walk to the main street so we parked our car and relaxed. We had a junior suite which looked onto the river, great view. Our balcony was enclosed so we could sit and enjoy the view without getting cold. The room was spacious, modern and the decor was slightly funky which we loved. It was also quiet.

We ate in the restaurant both nights and food was very good and some dishes were imaginative. This gave rise to a lot of discussion about the food which I enjoyed. The staff were pleasant in spite of the fact that they seemed to be under pressure at times. Service was slow but we didn't mind as we were there to relax, time was not important.

Breakfast was buffet style and good quality.

The pool was serviceable but nothing special. It was very cold the first day we used it but when I enquired about this I was told there was a problem and it was being fixed. It was slightly better the next day but not for the faint hearted.

“Fantastic”

Hilton Limerick

29 Mar 2008

This hotel is amazing. Parking was easily accessible and very reasonable at €5 per night. First off the room was beautiful the bathroom in particular was great with a separate shower. Everything was spotlessly clean. If you have kids watch out for the mini bar though!!!! We ate dinner in the hotel on the first night and it was fautless. After a bit of a wait to order it was most surprising. Amuse bouche was offered and a sorbet surprise. The meal itself was delicious, a great restaurant. We didn't use the leisure facilities so cant comment on that. The breakfast was brilliant too so much choice. A real gem in the heart of Limerick city.

I stayed in this hotel along with a couple of other family groups and the B&B rate we got was good - €89 per night. the reception and the decor in the rooms/bar/restaurant was very nice and first impressions were good. However, this was the best part of the stay!

The service throughout this hotel is unbelieveable - it makes Fawlty Towers seem good. We waited up to 20 minutes for drinks in the bar and longer for simple bar food. The bar staff were slow to take orders and even slower to accept that they had taken incorrect orders when the wrong food arrived. Prices in the bar are on the high end for very unimpressive fare but the same can be said of the restaurant. However, it must be said that the children's menu is very good - varied and excellent value for money. It took three attempts to get the correct food for 2 adults and 4 children and 5 of us were finished 45 minutes later when the sixth order arrived. No attempt to offer any kind of allowance for this chaos.

However, breakfast was indoubtedly the worst I have ever experienced anywhere. Long queues, lots of uncleared tables, food running out, staff harried and customers annoyed. This hotel needs management and quickly if it is to make the grade. I will not be returning, even if the very reasonable rate were halved. It's a pity because it has the makings of a lovely, central hotel.

Just returned from a two night stay at the Hilton over the Easter weekend on a supervalue break. Must say hotel decor and room standard is wonderful.
I felt the little things let the hotel down. The staff on arrival were not friendly. We had to pay in full for our stay on ariival which I thought was a bit strange. The bar and waiting staff made it look like a chore when you ordered.

The dinner we received as part of our package was buffet. The choice of starters was soup or salad, the main courses were what you would see on any pub carvery and we did not even try the dessert as they looked so poor.We had to que for breakfast on the second morning with hotel staff running in all directions which made it impossible to enjoy.
The hotel bar closed at 12.30 sharp which caught alot of people by surprise on Saturday night as the live music was still continuing. On Sunday night we were asked at 12.00 if we would like another drink as the bar was closing.

Overall nice hotel but we will not be returning.
