Booked this hotel and unbooked it. I had a course one Sat and decided to book the hotel for that night. When I arrived early that morning I knew that my room would not be ready but I asked could I get a coffee and scone. I told them that I would be staying there that night. They said that the coffee deck would not be open till 10am but I could buy a full breakfast inside. I did not want a full breakfast so was disappointed. I decided to try my luck and ask the waiter inside the restaurant if I could have a coffee, he got very flustered and said that he was not allowed but he would try - after waiting 10 mins I got fed up. Realising I could not get a coffee and scone I asked could I use the internet for a minute. They said they only had €16 cards avaialble. At this stage I thought am I in Ireland -this must be a big joke. I checked my booking and saw I had up to 4pm to unbook so I did this and booked another hotel.

“What a terrible value”

Hilton Limerick

17 Apr 2008

I arrived in Ireland a couple of days ahead of some meetings in order to visit Limerick, a city I had had to skip when vacationing in Ireland years earlier. I would not recommend you book this hotel. The staff are not very helpful or even nice (which is odd for Ireland), everything is over-priced for what you get and the rooms are not that great. Just find a nice B&B...you'll be glad you gave this place a miss.

“Reception staff”

Hilton Limerick

What can I say!!! The Reception staff are a complete disgrace to this hotel! The hotel itself is very nice, the rooms and big and clean but the staff have some serious issues.
My key card was not working from the minute I was issued with it and to ask the reception for assistance you would think i was asking them for money. I was made feel very much an inconvenience to them and it was very intimidating.
The rooms were quite big with a wonderful shower. It is important to note that the there are no irons in the room and you must ring (and cross your fingers that housekeeping will answer) to get an iron.

In geneal my experience here was very off putting and I can guarantee that I will never stay willingly in a Hilton hotel again.

“Best Hotel in Limerick”

Stayed in the hotel hotel a couple of times during visits to Limerick.
Have also stayed in the Absolute hotel in the city.
In my opinion, the Hilton is by far the best hotel I've stayed in while in Limerick.
The rooms are huge by normal standards, with a lovely bathroom with bath and power shower as standard. Really comfortable King Size beds, and cosy duvets.
I've always found the staff to be extremely helpful and pleasant. On the couple of occasions I've stayed here, I have ordered room service and found it to be really delicious. Very comprehensive menu and prompt service.

It's proximity to Limerick City Centre, and the standard in general of the hotel make it the only choice as far as I'm concerned.
Also, across most of the hotel websites it is the same price, if not cheaper than places like the Absolute Hotel, but is in a different league in terms of service and room quality. I made the mistake of staying at the Absolute Hotel, had a disasterous stay and on the next trip to Limerick stayed at the Hilton again.

We flew into Shannon late afternoon, so we decided to stay in Limerick before we began our vacation. The hotel is situated on the Shannon river and a short walk to downtown activities. The hotel is nice and clean and the staff was efficient .

We ate at the morning buffet was pretty good.

We would go back again.
