Booked last minute. What a fantastic place. Beautiful house and gardens with spectacular rooms with a personal touch everywhere. This hotel was a real find. Really relaxing stay. Staff are frindly and attentive with service second to non. Cannot recommend this hotel enough. My only reservation is that other people will discvover this fantastic hotel and I wont be able to get a room.

“Fabulous venue and friendly staff”

Stayed here in December without knowing much about it as had just wanted accommodation in the area. What a great find - beautiful venue which I imagine is spectacular for weddings. Butler that meets you is delightfully friendly as are other staff members who all volunteered to give us a tour of the house. Rooms are lovely and the beds quite wonderful as are the bathrooms. I would say though that the room standard is nothing that amazing compared to other 5 star or boutique properties what really makes this place are the main rooms and the grounds. Breakfast was great too. Would happily stay again and would be interested in what the food was like in the evening which we didnt try as they were only serving room service when we stayed - we therefore trecked off to a local restourant (Tiger Inn) which is good value food and then had a beer in the local pub to the Hall which was grim at best.

Room Tip: I would imagine all of the 6 rooms are great.

“Wedding Venue non-pareil”

Having a daughter marry besets a father with many problems. Choosing Goldsborough Hall, basically a specialist venue, sooths many of these away. This historic country house near Knaresborough has been through many guises, but its latest incarnation as a 'venue' (which also takes guests), is frankly stunning.

Up to the event I adopted the traditional paternal role (sit in a corner and sign cheques) and, although GH was never cheap, it was markedly less expensive than alternative venues, and of course one had the whole place rather than share with other guests. Since holding weddings is what GH do, our co-ordinator knew everything that was required and set it all up according to my daughter's wishes.

The day ran beautifully (helped by unbroken sunshine) with the staff invisibly ensuring everything was just so. Delicious food, unobtrusive service.

'Chief' guests stay in the hall - everyone has a suite with jacuzzi etc. As we all tottered off to bed our simultaneous jacuzzi use plunged the whole place into darkness so we felt a bit guilty as the owner had to change fuses at midnight.

Trad Yorkshire breakfast for all the next morning topped it all off.

“Fantastic!!”

I took my wife and our two children (10 & 7) to celebrate her birthday for an overnight stay. We were booked into the Hutton Suite which was fab for the kids who loved the HUGE 4 person jacuzzi bath and the 50 inch plazma tv. Nothing was too much trouble and all staff very friendly and helpful. Breakfast was excellent too. We asked for recommendations for places nearby to eat and chose the TIger Inn, Coneythorpe (a 5 min drive away) which again was excellent.
Goldsborough is the perfect place for a couples/honeymooners weekend away - so next time the kids are staying with grandma!!

“Amazing venue.”

We held our wedding at Goldsborough Hall in July. We only booked in February which left just a few months for planning, but Katharine, our wedding co-ordinator, was always on hand to help with the organisation. On the day itself, we didn't have to worry about a thing- the whole event ran perfectly. The staff are lovely, and everything feels very personal to you. All our guests commented on what a fantastic time they'd had. The food is delicious and all the bedrooms are amazing, especially the Lascelles bridal suite. We will certainly be returning for an anniversary. Our day was perfect, and I could not recommend Goldsborough highly enough.
