Sunny arrival, noise of the relaxing and actually eye catching fountain then to be greeted by some many smiling staff faces, every part of our experience was good.
Hotel is large and must cost a bit to keep doing it up, but at least you can see they are. Its clean inviting and what nice grouns to sit and walk in.

Our bedroom was one of the new ones and WOW they are to die for, the beds yu dont want to get out of and the bathroom had mood lighting, idea for the wife now.

The food was nice although we wanted to eat out for 1night the orchid is well recommeded.

Swimming pool just the right size and the overall price was we thought very well worth the money paid.

Will deffo be back.

we have just returned from a two day stay at the majestic after reading the reviews i expected the worst but it was a lovely hotel we had a lovely art deco room bedding was crisp and white good toiletries bathroom was brand new and modern the breakfast was plentiful with a large selection did not have to wait around for anything the staff were helpful we came home thinking we had stayed at a stately home please do not believe everthing you read on trip advisor go for yourselves and see we give it 10/10

My wife and self were due to stay at the Majestic for a 4 day mid week break, shopping and sightseeing as an agenda. A little worried having seen some very negative reviews on Tripadvisor.

I can only presume that some of the recent reviewers are more used to staying at Premier or Travel lodge hotels. The Majestic is like a grand Liner with enormous pillared and marble clad public rooms. Everything is on a grand scale including the staircase, the dining room is fantastic with beautifully presented food to match. Just the sort of hotel you would expect in Harrogate.

Sweeping gardens are very colourful and the view from our top floor bedroom was dramatic. Clean towels every day in our massive bathroom and the toiletries were replaced daily.

The gym is very small but functional, however the sauna had no water bucket and I was told that because it was electrical no water was allowed.Very strange as it rendered the sauna absolutely useless.

This is truly a magnificent hotel on the grand scale, there are a few idiosyncrasies that add to it's charm. There was only one lift with a capacity to carry 6 working to service 140 odd rooms so we used the service lift which was an adventure in it's own right.
The gents toilet off the main hall are worth a visit, it is without doubt the most elegant and grand affair I have ever visited. I counted the facilities and it could accommodate 54 gentlemen at the same sitting which is probably more than some hotel dining rooms!!

Good value, friendly staff, very secure at night, lovely food, great gardens and only 5 minutes from the town center.

I have known the hotel in the past and hoped the reviews were not correct. Howevver they were. Our first room was smoking, even though asked for non smoking - (it has been rejected by at least 2 different customers prior to us that day that we knew of) we moved to another and still the room was smelly. We were left with an air freshner spray to try and get rid of the smell only was not sure which was worse? The bedding had cigerette burns in it. We hoped the leisure facilities would make up for it, unfortuately it didnt. The towels provided were varying shades of grey rather than white. With threads hanging off them. The pool was very cloudy and made our eyes sting after using it. We had to walk through a wedding reception to bring in the luggage as the car parking was awkward to get to. Sorry for the wedding couple if your photos have customers with luggage on them! Oh the bed was comfy shame about the aroma of the quilt on top.
