“Choccy piggies!”

Boar's Head Hotel

What a place!!!!!
Stayed for Valentines weekend with hubby and it was worth every single penny!
Lovely room..Yellow Room, princess coronet over bed, antique furniture, lovely bathroom and little piggy shaped bath oils!!
But the best moment was when my husband answered the door as we were getting ready for dinner and there was a uniformed young man holding out a tray and asking "Chocolate piggy for later, Sir?" and popping 2 of the said piggies into my husbands hand!!
Dinner was sublime...wanted to try everything on the menu!!
Breakfast the next morning came to our room as requested and what a breakfast..when we ordered it the receptionist said that only continental breakfasts were delivered to the room, and we expected the usual hard pastry and cold toast!!! How wrong we were! French pastries, danish pastries, cereal, several different types of toast and things to spread on it, coffee, juice and REAL linen napkins! Infact we didnt eat all day after that!
Pick up a hotel brochure and giggle your way though it, it really is more like a funny story that a brochure.
Infact..go stay at this wonderful, quirky, friendly hotel and see for yourself!

“A Wonderful Find!”

This is a really lovely hotel with many refreshing and thoughtful touches, delicious home made biscuits with the tea/coffee making facilites and even a chocolate pig on the pillow at bedtime! Cannot recommend this hotel enough, the staff are lovely- always friendly and the rooms are delightful. The food is also fabulous in both the restaurant and the bistro, which is excellent as you get the choice to be able to dress up or down without sacrificing a wonderful dinner. We go to an annual exhibition each year in Harrogate and love staying here as it is a little distance away from the big hotels in the very centre and we get to escape from everyone else!!

Beautiful building in lovely village and castle just a hundred yards away. Lovely rooms, large and comfortable with enormous beds and a wooden boat to sail on your bath. Very friendly and helpful staff and lots of them. Wonderful food, both in the main restaurant and in the bar, with great breakfasts. Somewhere to spoil yourself for a great weekend in the country.
