Stayed here July 11th,12th & can't fault the place. As previously stated the hotel is in a great location & more importantly the rooms were clean and the staff were friendly. No issue with parking as we got into the hotel car park. All in all a good hotel and if we're ever in Harrogate again we would use it.

Agree with other reviews in that the hotel is in a great location. However the rooms are tiny.

Upon arrival we were allegedly upgraded to an executive room. However this just meant a standard size room to which a desk and office style chair had been added making it difficult to walk around the bed. Added to this, half the wardrobe space had been given over to a trouser press and mini bar. Not the standard I would expect from Holiday Inn.

We were booked in for a conference by the organizers. Upon arrival Wednesday we were told "sorry, no room, we're fully booked. And we've also had to cancel your room for Saturday night." We get did Saturday back and they did find us a smaller hotel at half the price, but . . .
On coming back Thursday our £120/night room, furthest but one from the lifts, clearly hadn't been occupied for at least a week. Staff shortages meant no assistance in bringing heavy luggage and conference material to the room, which was at least clean, but shabby, once aired. The plumbing & linens were functional, nothing more. The breakast was mediocre: watery eggs, leathery bacon. The one meal we ate, a banquet, was terrible and took nearly three hours - two servers for 200 diners.
In sum, ** quality at ***** price.
I didn't dare try the internet - £15/ day charge is my per month fee at home. At least the beer was cold. The staff was friendly but horribly overworked.
Stay anyplace else

The hotel is fine for a short break;rooms are basic but have everything you need;food and drink is expensive but there are ample eating and drinking establishments in Harrogate. I have stayed at this hotel on a number of occasions but I would never pay full price; I always search the net for the best offers.
