Booked in for a 3 night stay from Friday night.

Hotel is in lovely location and we were really looking forward to our romantic few days together.

However we soon relaised we had made a grave error.

My partners evening meal was inedible as the salmon was clearly off. Our room was above the bar area and we had to wait until the early hours for this to close. Unfortunately the guests in the next room then had a party until about 5:00am.

We didn't bother with the breakfast next morning as we did not want to tempt fate and were in a rush to leave and find another place to stay.

Avoid at all costs!!!!!

My husband and I spent two nights recently at the Harefield Hall Hotel and were very disapointed considering what we had to pay! Firstly, our double room was very small. The bathroom didn't have a main light so we had to use the shaving light over the mirror. The light had to be switched on to enable someone to see what they were doing, so the maid should have been aware a bulb was needed!! Loo rolls were rationed also. The tea and coffee making facilities were very handy except that there wasn't any tea bags or sachets of coffee left on the tray for us to use. The TV in the room worked but didn't have a watchable picture as the arial point didn't work. On our first evening I told a member of staff who looked at the TV and agreed to fetch us a portable arial. However, we never received it!! The mints on the pillow would have been a welcome extra touch if the basics had been up to scratch.
The breakfast was ok, nothing special unless you like uncooked fried egg.
The hotel seemed to be run by a handful of young men, polite enough but nobody seemed to have management status.
To sum up, the hotel was not up to scratch for £176 for two nights!!!

The overall experience of staying at the hall and driving around the countryside was more than had been expected. With visits to first class restaurants and Harrogate theatre. The owners of the property were very professional, curtious and generous.
