Anyone who stays in a Premier travel Inn should know what to expect - a good value clean room with comfortable beds in a hotel attached to a local pub/restaurant. I find it absolutely absurd that someone could describe this property as "Horrible" it is far from that! Anyone looking for a base at a good cost in the Harrogate area should stay here. If you want one of the typical olde-worlde local hotels, then don't. The Park pub next door serves food which is typical of a chain, but was enjoyable non the less without blowing us away. Breakfast was £7.50 for a fully cooked English and was just about worth it. Overall a clean bill of health and a good stay. If making a request ask for a room on the 2nd floor, it's quieter up there and there is a lift.

Even though we had a little trouble finding this place, when we did we got a nice welcome and found we had a great room for a more than reasonable price. The restaurant was so good we ate there both nights - the food was great and the service was very friendly and quick. It was a nice 20 minute walk into the town center through the parks, or we could have just jumped on the train which stops on the other side of the car park.

This is the best place we've ever stayed in Harrogate - all the older hotels have proven to be a dead loss and much more expensive.

We would definitely stay there again and recommend it to friends.

So, I guess I must have stayed in a different place to the other folks reviewing this hotel eh? I was a single female stayng in this hotel for 2 nights. The receptionist said they hadn't realised that I was a lone female (I booked with 2 male colleagues so obvious confusion) and couldn't apologise enough that my room was on the ground floor... they have a policy that lone females are not allocated rooms at ground level. It was fine by me and as I had arrived late all the other rooms were already taken

The room was extremely clean, the bathroom was exceptional and the bedclothes were cool and crisp, with the duvet being extremly cosy.

Tea and coffee were available and reception has a supply of extra tea, coffee milk etc under the desk just to hand out if needed. TV was quite adequate and all amenities fully working, including he hairdyer. Oh, and I had a phone in my room!!!

I have to say that I cannot fault this hotel at all.

The only thing I will say is that breakfast staff seemed a little distracted but the choice was exellent and the poached eggs and sausages were lovely! - I had a sausage sandwich, mmmm.

The main meal in the bar was pretty average but it was extremely quick in arriving.

If you want a taxi....they are almost there before you ring them...I have never ever had taxi's arrive so quickly!

All in all an excellent experience and I would love to stay again.

Booked room via main booking line, on arrival room incorrectly made up only one bed made up instead of the two, not even spare bedding so we could make it up. room generaly in good order but not very clean in bathroom.
Went for meal in "The Park Restaurant" which is part of the hotel, ordered food at 8pm, at 8.45pm had to ask if food was coming at all, another ten minutes later food arrived, ordered lamb steak, steak was well done on one half the other half was raw/frozen, chips had been fried to death, we left soon after. The duty manager said they had only been open for 2 weeks and staff not well trained? It may inprove, i wont be back to check.

“Travel Inns are good value”

Premier Inn Harrogate

Well, many people heap scorn on the Travel Inns, a fairly new chain of budget hotels. I personally like them very much and stay in them a lot when I visit England. The biggest thing in their favour as far as I am concerned is that you pay per room and not per person - this is generally what us North Americans are used to and when travelling with a family it is the only way to pay!! All hotels have a flat rate of GBP 45.00 to GBP 62.00 dependant on location.
The Harogate Travel Inn is fairly new and very typical of the chain. It is classic no-frills accomodation but at the same time exceptionally clean and quite comfortable. Most rooms have a large bed or a combination of beds and sofa beds. Tea kettle is standard and the bathroom and shower very big and well-supplied with water. The Harrogate TI is situated in an attractive part of town and is actually right next to a railway station which connects to Harrogate and Leeds and other main-line stations. There is a restaurant and pub right next door and vending machines aplenty. The one peculiar thing about these hotels is that there are no phones in the room which is only really an issue from a security point of view. Knowing this on this stay and as a women travelling alone I made efforts to ensure that my Canadian cell phone would work in the UK so that I could call for assistance if necessary. As it is I stayed in this hotel for 5 nights and on the Friday night there was considerable noise and disturbance from the room next door - going on until the early hours of the morning. Unable to call reception to complain about this I suffered in silence - too nervous to venture down to the lobby. Next morning though I did raise the matter with the receptionist and was promptly offered a refund for that nights stay and an assurance that the yobos had checked out. Excellent value at the Travel Inn, Harrogate
