April House was a “by chance” find for me a few years ago when looking for somewhere to stay while attending the Harrogate International Conference Centre (HICC) - & what a find it was. I’ve been back each year since - not just for work, but for a family breaks as well. Something I rarely do is make recommendations to friends and colleagues etc, as my opinion of good may not be another’s opinion – but with April House I made an exception & all (6) that have been there have been very pleased with their stay.

David and Ruth’s home offer’s wonderful Yorkshire hospitality complimented by the Victorian character of April House in a quiet leafy road just a few minutes walk from the HICC and town. Their rooms and facilities are spacious, spotless, well furnished with a nice homely atmosphere.

The breakfast – well, you name it and its there, good quality and plentiful.

Parking – ample roadside parking (just ask David or Ruth for a permit)

As for me, I (along with my colleagues) will be booking up with David and Ruth for at least one visit next year.

We have just returned from a wonderful 4 night stay in Harrogate.
Ruth and David (owners of April House) couldn't do enough for us. As soon as we arrived we felt at home. The furnishings and accommodation were 1st Class and then some!!What can I say about the breakfasts, the choice and quality was second to none. Nothing was too much trouble and Davids sense of humour made our holiday.Ruth runs a very tigth ship as the house is absolutely spotless. The little touches i.e. 'real china' ,every type of fresh fruit at breakfast, good selection of reading material, lots of tourist information (paper and verbal) readily available, just added to a wonderful stay. One last tip, when booking a break in Harrogate, don't go for the large chain hotels,go for April House where you will receive a far more personal service
Parking was absolutely no problem. What a wonderful system the disc system is! This was our 1st visit to April House and most certainly will not be our last.

The whole house is spotless. Parking was easy and convenient. Owners were really nice people and very helpful. Convenient location. Nothing but praise - and believe me, I can moan for England given the chance.

We have just spent two nights at April House where our every need was catered for. A lovely hotel with outstanding hospitality from Ruth and David, situated in a quiet leafy street. The rooms and bathrooms are spotless and the breakfasts a treat. April House is well situated for walking into Harrogate where the shops and gardens are second to none. For reasonably priced morning coffee meals and snacks, try the Winter Gardens (Wetherspoons) and soak up the atmosphere of the spectacular interior. We will definitely be returning to April House for our next trip to Yorkshire.
