David and Ruth Hayes are the congenial hosts of this delightful Victorian Bed and Breakfast in the heart of historic Harrogate. I stayed there for 2 weeks during April 2008, and I would definitely stay there again.
David and Ruth are friendly and welcoming - nothing is too much trouble - at my request they aranged for me to hire a pushbike, and when the bike had problems, they drove me to my destination at the edge of town!
The rooms are well-appointed and priced according to size. All rooms have a television, fridge, tea and coffee making facilities and private bathroom. The house is spotless.
Breakfasts are excellent! Guests can choose from an array of breakfast cereals and museli, as well as porridge, fruit, yoghurt, toast etc; guests can also choose that quaint British institution, "a full English (breakfast)" - which means sausages, eggs, tomatoes, bacon etc etc etc ....
April House is easy walking distance to the heart of town, with several excellent restaurents, Betty's Tea Rooms, and the wonderful Turkish Baths.
Enjoy!
