The West Park's website describes their hotel as a 'Boutique Hotel'. I can tell you that this absolutely NOT a boutique hotel.
The building itself occupies a lovely location in Harrogate, situated within a row of fashionble shops and bars which stand opposite a lovely area of parkland. But don't let this fool you, inside we found one of the most poorly decorated hotels I have
ever seen. It was as if they had employed a group of teenagers to do the decorating, given them some orange, yellow and bronze paint, and then a free reign to do whatever they wanted - it was utterly bizzare in places. The general level of clenliness was average, certainly not what I would expect of a hotel. The shower in our room had no pressure and the water temperature at best was tepid! We pointed this out to reception that evening and they said they would ask someone to look at it. The next morning showed no improvement and we complained on departure. It seemed that they were aware that this was an ongoing problem and yet they continue to put people into rooms that don't have hot running water! We had to ASK for the bill to be reviewed as we felt this to be unacceptable and were offered a pathetic 10% - PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE SPEND YOUR HARD EARNED CASH SOMEWHERE ELSE!
