It's frightening how a website can create an image of a place that is so far removed from reality.

This place is strange. Not the 'boutique' hotel it claims to be!!

It could be amazing. Great location over looking the park and a short stroll from town.

However...the whole place appears to have been decorated by the design team on Changing Rooms circa 1992. Walls are rag rolled a tabacco stained yellow and accented with grubby brown woodwork. Someone severely lacking talent has created millions of 'works of art' from a roll of woodchip wallpaper, a glue gun and a pot of gold paint.

Carpet was sticky and horrible. The restaurant stinks of stale chip fat.

Some rooms have no hot water. Some only have scalding hot water.

Staff are VERY STRANGE and have no idea what is going on. We had a series of bizarre enounters with them. They are polyester-clad and vacant. They have no idea about customer service/smiling/turning up for work/construcing sentences...

If you're looking for an investment opportunity, buy this place. Sack the staff and bulk buy the white paint.

Prices are ridiculous. Stay somewhere else.

This hotel is in a great location in the centre of Harrogate but unfortunately could be so much better. The room was basic and the bathroom was in need of upgrading- it definitely wasn't somewhere we wanted to spend time in.

However, it was the staff who made it the strangest place to stay - a receptionist who didn't know what was happening, arguments amongst the staff in front of guests, and a bartender who spent far too much time drinking behind the bar and even appeared in the morning to check guests out whilst still under the influence.

Very strange indeed and so unenjoyable after the first night that we moved out to another hotel nearby.
