receptionist was great with a smile worth a million dollars something sadly lacking in so many other hotels i have stayed in
the room is large and clean with a superb view of the cricket ground
tea and coffee not filled up so had to manage on a cup of boiled water (couldnot be botherd asking) room was uncomfotably hot despite a fan provided
super power shower but no curtain so water splahed everywhere
dinner choice not good and nobody there to help waited 5 mins at the bar without help so eat next door
breakfast buffet was fairly good good hot food but i would worry if they were very busy
still very convienient for my business calls and the smile from the receptionist worth another try

I had one night here and although the rooms were big and very clean and we had a HUGE shower and a window to match, the service was classic slapstick!, ages to get a drink and flat mixers, we left the bar early to get to a wedding do we had elswhere and returned and the service problems didn't get any better.

The service was that slow that even the chef was helping out behind the bar!

In the morning i went for breakfast and there was hardly anyhting left to eat,myself and other guests waited for ages for any food to be put out, the tray for the toast machine was not in place and the toast was just falling down the back onto the carpet, we asked for breakfast to go and the pack they gave us didn't have many of the items advertised, i would consider stopping here if i was a monk and needed a big room to meditate and wanted to remain alcohol free!

I have stayed at this hotel on two seperate occasions and recieved a high level of service both times. We had the same woman on reception both times and she was chatty and always very helpful.

Size of rooms are good and really clean. Shower is large and was hot. some rooms have a view over the cricket ground which is great for any cricket fans.

One of our stays the TV went dodgy and none of the channels would work, so we went down to reception and someone came to see what the problem was straight away and without hesitation we were moved into a different room, excellent service!

Price is average for a hotel in this area but I would highly recommend Days Hotel Derby.

As a full-time wheelchair user this hotel attracted me with its promise of a "flat-floor shower".
The pictures on the web-site show large modern rooms and previous reviews about the hotel were positive.
The reality was a little different!
The room we had was just large enough to accommodate my wheelchair on one side of the bed. Not of course the side I normally sleep on.
Then there was the bed. Far too high for transferring onto from a normal wheelchair. The edges were also extremely soft giving little support.
Sadly the biggest dissapointment was the shower. It was indeed flat once my wife wrestled me and my showerchair over the huge threashold!
As a "normal" hotel I'm sure it's adequate for most people's needs. It was clean, the staff were friendly and parking was easy.
The restaurant though is small and we were encouraged to eat our evening meal in the steak and ribs bar next door. Breakfast was not great so maybe we did the right thing.
We will be returning to Derby but probably not to this hotel.
