I booked this hotel for the cheltenham festival 07 as i could not find a closer one to the racecourse when i was booking, especially within my price range!

The hotel was easy to find, simply jump on bus number 1 / 1A from the main street outside the bus station (abit tricky to find at first but follow signs for shopping and its at the other side of the road underneath the promenade tunnel). Bus took only 5 minutes but cost £1.40 single trip which i thought was quite expensive for the length of the journey,
All the bus drivers seem to be foreign and are not much help so simply ask for Mannington House Bus Stop and keep your eye out, you go over 1 main roundabout signposted Mannington and you can see the Ibis, the bus tops just up the road.
(Bus back other side of road where it splits)

Ibis Hotel

I thought that i have pre-paid for my hotel with LASTMINUTE.COM but upon arrival i had to pay for the full stay as they informed me that LASTMINUTE did not take payment, this was not made clear and really ****** me off, if you want to book this hotel it is easier to book with IBIS direct!

The hotel was okay, similar to all of its king e.g Travelodge. Okay so there was only 1 pillow but the rooms were tidy, clean and provided everything you needed TV, Kettle etc. Bathroom fine just like any other hotel, although similar to all travelodges.. the baths are very small!

The hotel had 1 bar and 1 restraunt which were fine to drink in but i would not advise food just because of its quality.. orices were not too bad and i suppose its okay if you were in a rush.

I would stay here again but i dont think i will be visiting Swindon anytime soon!!!!!

“Dirty, Small, Cheap and nasty hotel”

I had the misfortune to stay at this hotel whilst working in Swindon and can honestly say i would never go back.

The rooms were dirty and small and akin to a student halls of residence. Reasonable enough for the price you might think, but i would rather stay at the travel lodge half a mile away as it was much better!

The bar and restaurant were dreadful, so bad in fact that i could not bear to use either. The location is poor and away from the town centre.

Where do I start! Possibly the worst hotel I have ever stayed in, only saving grace is that work were paying. My room was probably best described as student digs - velvet lino on the floor, one pillow for a double bed, one blanket and sheet on the bed (in November), tiny TV, broken remote, and one measly tea bag! The bathroom was OK. Its out in the middle of an industrial estate too so there isn't really anywhere to escape to, and colleagues that ate there in the evening weren't at all complimentary.
Don't get too excited about breakfast either - the choice is extremely limited and there are no cooked options.
I know this is a budget hotel, but Travelodge/Premier Inn seem to carry it off with a lot more panache than this and it doesn't seem so cheap & nasty.
In summary - avoid at all costs.

Good sized hotel.......Ibis are the same world over. This one has a small cafe...At the weekends they dont serve hot breakfast which was a bit dissapointing, also a lot of students work there!!! Good one night hotel for shopping or night out.. Large car park easy to find...In the middle of an industrial park so not walking distance to shops etc....
