“Pleasant stay”

Park Inn Telford

Stayed at the Park inn for 1 night whilst away on business. The reception and the bar were clean and the staff very friendly. The room was ok, a little dated, but the bed was very comfortable.

I did not eat dinner there but the menu was varied enough. Breakfast was great with a good selection and all well cooked.

Reception were more than happy for me to leave the car in the car park, whilst I went to my meeting even though I had checked out.

I would stay again.

Myself and my partner stayed at the Park Inn Telford over the Easter break, as we decided to visit Ironbridge over that weekend.

We stayed for 3 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the hotel. What impressed us the most was the staff, who were extremely efficient and friendly throughout our stay. We were very impressed with our room as it was spotless and pretty roomy. The hotel’s facilities were great - breakfast was very nice with all the usual choices, we made full use of the resident bar and I had a lovely relaxing swim in the pool as well.

The hotel is perfectly situated as it is right off the motorway and I would definitely recommend it.

Don’t forget to ask reception for a token on the way out though, as you can’t get off the car park without one!

Just returned from a weekend break. From the outside the hotel is very impressive and im sure it was in its day. However the hotel has been neglected, never more so than the rooms.

The first room we were in, the bathroom was not cleaned properly. The toilet was yellow, the sink had lime scale and sludge around the taps and the shower had black mould on the shower head. the light bulb blew in the bathroom and there was no maintance so we were moved two doors away on the second day. This room smelt sooooo bad of
damp. The carpet was sopping in the bedroom so used the towels to soak it up. Not sure what had been in the carpet but it was brown all over the towels.

The changing rooms in the leisure facilities were full of dust and soap scum. The pool, jacuzzi and steam room were nice. We recieved an early morning call at 7.30am that was not booked, we took this as a good cue to leave........NEVER TO RETURN AGAIN.

Stayed 2 nights here in mid Jan. Hotel is well located close to the motorway junction and blessed with a large car park. Not sure how long the hotel has been in current ownership but I suspect it belonged to another chain previously (possibly Crown Plaza)

Booking in was fine. Receptionist was pleasant and i was allocated a room on the second floor. The room was dissappointing- decor tired etc but worse of all- twin beds when i had specified a double! Straight on the phone to complain and reception dealt with my complaint very well and re-allocated me a room on the top floor. This had a "Crown" badge on the door and was far superior to my earlier room. Decor, furniture and bathroom all very pleasant.

Ordered room service on my first night and ate in the restuarant on the second night. Both quite acceptable in terms of service and food (the chicken with prawns in the restuarant was especially good). Service was brisk. I was in and out of the restuarant in 45 mins but as i was dining solo, that was ideal. Breakfast was also good- full cooked offering on a buffet basis. My only criticism was that coffee and toast was self service too when i believe this should be brought to the table by the waitress.

Had chance to use the leisure facs on the second day. Comprehensive but small. Facilities comprised of swimming pool, steam room, sauna, jaccuzzi, gym and treatment rooms. All somewhat challenged size-wise but again adequate.

Room was comfortable except for severe light polution. The curtains have large gaps at the sides and the orange lights from the car park make the room very well lit throughout the night. Perhaps a room at the rear of the hotel wouldnt suffer in this way?

I see that previous reports of this hotel have been less than complimentary. I can only assume that management have noted this and sought to increase standards. Whilst there is no "wow" factor here, neither was there much to complain about and i have stayed in a lot worse places.
