i had stayed here before when visiting telford on business and wasn't looking forward to a revisit based on my last experience. however it was here or wolverhampton. my dread was justified. whilst the rooms have had a design 101 facelift they are tiny. and painting a melamine wardrobe thats failling apart inside doesnt cut the mustard. the 'boutique chic' veneer is just that. and its not very polished. its the detail that counts and trim missing on furniture, extractor fans choked with dust, dust and cobwebs on lights and on room decorations tell it how it is. skinny matresss on a tiny bed is not what i would expect for 69.50 a night. in fact its daylight robbery. tiny cheap towels. no safety chains on doors. paper thin walls. banging fire doors. surly distracted service at the front desk. and the ultimate for me not even bothering to ask me if i enjoyed my stay! the only highlight of the whole stay was the waiting staff at breakfast. that and my breakfast was cooked fresh to order, the coffee was good quality and they checked everything was ok. the continental buffet part was a bit limited though.
